Any advantages creating a SUBDOMAIN name?

Question

If I create like 20 subdomains name will I get more traffic?
I mean I read that creating subdomain is free and can
be unlimited. Can I build 1 site and register in yahoo.com
my 100 subdomain ?? Thanks

I was told that the subdomain should have his own page with its own content?? That way the robots can see it is a different index? I mean the page will be part of the main site.

If the content is the same.. it will get you penalized for duplication and therefore LESS traffic

The advantage of subdomain is for additional or different content with a url instead of a folder.
answers.yahoo.com is a subdomain used for different content than say news.yahoo.com

Just build a site with good content and use good design standards your site will get indexed just fine.

Subdomains are usually free, but unlike regular domains, you don't get the luxury of having a "whateveryouwant.com" type of address.

If you're okay with a "whateveryouwant.someothersite.com" address instead, then theoretically you can have as many subdomains as you want. Just make sure you comply to the hosts' rules.

To increase traffic you should submit the sites to as many search engines as possible, and mix up the titles of the web pages so different search queries pick up the same site.

It relies upon upon what sort of web site you have. A sub-folder is extra handy. first make sure your host will allow you to create sub domains. like blah.yourdomain.com, hi.yourdomain.com, etc. but i really don't see how creating sub domains would increase traffic unles they actually had content that search engine robots would detect.
