I am a 24 year old man and i was at a bar about 2 weeks ago and i met a cute girl and we preceded to make love... it was a beatiful relationship... untill she told me a few days ago that she is actually 16 years old!!!! she snuck into the bar and tricked me into having sex with him... the legal consent age in my state is 18 and i checked and the law is clear that i should have somehow known that she is 16(i was supposed to ask) now this girl has been threatening me that she will tell her parents that i had sex with her, she has been making me buy her expensive jewerly and stuff and i have no choice, i am about to graduate college and i can't afford to go to jail... she said that she wont tell anyone if i buy her a 2004 civic... i have money saved up from my job but i dont want to use it on a car for someone else, and i dont want to go to jail... what should I do? my brother is a lawyer and i asked him and he said that the only way out is too give her what

Should have never given her anything in the first place. Since you already gave her stuff, she can show it to her parents. What she is doing is extortion and is a felony. She is 16 and can be arrested and prosecuted for it. You might want to bring that up the next time she asks you for something.
And any evidence of "the act" is gone by now anyway. She shouldn't have been in the bar in the first place pretending to be older, which is also against the law, not only for her, but for the owners of the bar.
I don't know of anyone who asks to see ID when out having a good time, although it might now be a good idea to do so.
And if your brother is a lawyer and told you that, he should be disbarred. You DO NOT just give in to something like this. If your brother told you that, he isn't fit to represent the letter A on Sesame Street.

How would she feel if you told her parents that she was at a bar? Is there surveilance at the bar to prove she was there? Its her word against yers. Unless there was witnesses to you guys making out/ having sex. Your brother sounds like a bad lawyer. He should help you more than that. Or maybe he thinks this is riduclous like I do. No, the other way out is to report her to the police for Fraud (you met her in a bar no way for you to suspect her to be under age) and blackmail (she is threatening to turn you in, in exchange for....whatever) you actually have done nothing wrong. Exept for not cutting her off the second you found out she was under age. I would find a different lawyer and file suit against her and her parents. Call her up and tell her that you have already got a lawyer and you are going to sue her parents since she is a minor, tell her your going to sue for fruad since she basically tricked you into having sex with her, and have her arrested for blackmail. If she is really only 16 she will probably freak out, if not you still have a really good case. It all depends on who you have arguing it for you.

I hope you're asking this on a public computer. Things to consider: phone records, receipts, witnesses, etc. Can the numbers that you called this girl from be traced back to you?
Tell this girl that blackmail is a crime as well, and if she told on you, she'd be taking herself down too. That's not entirely so, but it would scare her into believing it.
Just answer the phone next time she calls you, and try to give off the impression that, **** it, you're *ready* to goto jail. Make her believe that you would goto jail just to have the satisfaction of seeing her goto jail for blackmailing you. It's mind games my friend.

Like eventually it will have to come to an end.. you can't just supply her every demand. She WILL keep asking for things and I don't want to have to see someone deal with a whiny brat for the next 5 years untill she decides to turn you in.
16 year old girls don't get cars. Wouldn't that be a bit more suspicious. I think you should call HER parents and tell them you're sick of her crap. It shows that you're stepping up and ready to accept any consequences. And BE ready...

Get a lawer & go to the cops.Tell them she is blackmailing you & that she told you she was of legal age.It doesn't matter if that's true or not,it's your word against hers.She is a blackmailer,so they would believe you before her.Also,go to the bar and ask why they served an under-aged girl,they will probably back you up & say she lied to them.Other-wise this little cow will blackmail you until the statute of limitations runs out.I find it a bit odd that a lawer would tell you to keep paying her.Good luck.

Do not buy her anything alse. She is blackmailing you, and she has prostituted herself to do it.
get a tape recorder and conceal it and record her blackmailing you. What she is doing is criminal. Yes you should have been more careful, but then you were ib a bar, so its not your fault in my eyes. How did she get into the bar in the first place? 18 to party 21 to drink. I would make sure if charges get pressed you bring this up also. You will most likely not go to jail even if it does go to court. You were a man in a bar, when asults that are of legal age are only supposed to be allowed to go.

If you buy her this car, what's to stop her from blackmailing you again?
If she is really 16 and you give her this car, her parents are going to wonder where she got it and everything's going to come out in the open anyway.
I agree with the others. She's not 16. Go to the police yourself. Make sure you tell them about the blackmailing too.

I think that since you met this girl in a bar you obviously thought she was of legal age. You can always say that she lied to you and said that she was 21. Also, what she is doing - (trying to bribe you into buying her a car) is illegal on her part. I wouldn't buy her anything if I were you. She cant even prve that the two of you had sex 2 weeks ago.
