If it is something new I follow directions, otherwise I wing it.
I have been cooking a long time, and well everyone here is well fed (everyone sees this lol). If they did not like my cooking I would know it lol!
Usually wing it....

I generally follow the recipe, although with some things, like meatloaf, I have my own ideas about what herbs to use. The basic ingredients don't change, but I may vary a few details here and there.
But then, I am not known as much of a cook.

Well, I have two growing children , and it seems that all I ever hear is" I am hungry." I follow directions if at all possible, but there are some ingredients that they don't like , mushrooms , onions, so winging it happens almost everyday. When they go to college I may never cook again.

I "start" with the recipe but then veer off and add my own touches.
