It really depends on the baby. I will offer food to my 6 months old twice a day. I am going slowly because I delayed solids to 6 months. I would say no more than 3 times a day.

It is important to remember that Breastmilk or Formula is the most important food for a Baby under 1 year of age! Approximately every 3 to 4 hours...between 6am and 9pm. By this time they should be sleeping 6 or 7 hours through the night. Around month 6 you can slowly introduce solids. You should try to start with a Baby Cereal or a Puree'd Vegetable for one meal a day-for the first two weeks! Every few weeks add a solid food feeding,do not introduce more than one "new food" at a time. Offer the same food for 3 to 4 days, before starting a new one!

My six month old started solids about a month ago. At this time he drinks breastmilk in the morning, cereal at about 10am, fruits at around 1pm, breastmilk as often as he wants during the day and then at about 5pm i offer veggies or more cereal. He doesnt always have this last meal but i offer it anyways. Sometimes I throw in another feeding between 1pm and 5pm. There's day's he's really interested in eating and days when he's not so much. It all depends on the cues your baby gives you. You can offer a few times a day and see when she or he likes to eat and take it from there. Good luck.

I'd say as often as needed lol. Kinda like the six hundred pound gorilla, ya don't wanna say "no" when they want another beer.
If they're cryin or fussy, it's cause they are needing a diaper change, they're tired, or they're hungry. Every time you see the signs, check 1,2, and 3 and you can't go wrong.

My first two daughters ate 3 times a day, they were always on a STRICT schedule. My third daughter ,who is 5 months old, eats breakfast, a snack around lunch, and eats dinner.
