Alan Francis has won the NHPA s the World Horseshoe Pitching Championship 20 times with a consistent 90% ringer average. An amazing record considered over a couple of decades of competing. Steve Nash is the greatest free throw shooter at 90.43%, but not over 20 years and without anyone else trying to knock his shots off. No matter the sport, for any athelte to be consistently so much better than virtually everyone else in the world that competes at it is a truly phenomenal feat. That is a dedicated competitor that has my respect and should be on any list of the greatest athetes to ever compete.

Russell, the old celtic great had about 11 NBA championship. Of course, if we start to count obscure sport, you can get some olympian who did not lose a meet in ten years. Edwin Moses come to mind. Need more clearification on that qustion.
