I saw the movie last week and I love it!! I think it's so imaginative and clever. I think it's amazing but when i loked up about it I saw that it was a box office flop and that it made $12million when it took $25million to make it. Why did no-one like it? I'm I the only one who does? lol

One reason Labyrinth didn't do well in theaters is that it was up against a large crop of action movies which always draw the most tickets. There was also some confusion about it with the public as to wether it was a movie only for little kids or not since it had puppets in it. I have seen it as well and thought it was a good movie. Labyrinth and Secret of Nimph were the pinnacle of the wave of puppet and muppet movies that came out in the 80's. It's a shame in a way, that computer graphics movies (as good as some of them are) have virtually taken the place of muppet movies. There is a lot of appeal to movies filmed using physical objects vs. computer generated ones. I also like the clay-mation movies like Wallace and Grommit for that reason. I though David Bowie did a good job considering he's a singer first and actor second. A lot of singers and atheletes don't make good actors. Some movies do better on video or DVD than they do at theaters due to bad timing of release and competition with more hyped moves.

I did not know that. I guess those types of movies can take a while to catch on. It was an amazing movie though.I've seen it at least 25 times. The David Bowie bulge is a little scary though. Don't watch that movie if you're a dude with adequacy issues (insert smile here).

Are you talking about Pan's Labyrinth (recently came out, and is in Spanish) or Labyrinth (with David Bowie and Jennifer Connelly). Both are great movies. I've loved Labyrinth for years and years.

To me some of the best movies were box office flops. I love Labyrinth and thought it was excellent. That is one of my favorite movies from the 80's.

it was made years ago and they are still making money
$25 mil was a lot of money back then and it didn't do that bad.
But it is one of those movies that has been pr oven by the test of time. it is one of my favorites My 11 year old daughter
now says it is one of her favorite films.
But that is only because it is one of the greatest fantasy films
of the 80's .

I actually just bought the DVD. I loved it back in the '80s.
But yeah, it isn't a film for everyone...I mean, David Bowie and muppets!

Which one? The old school one with David Bowie and Jennifer Connelly or the new Pan's Labryinth - a spanish adult fairy tale?
Both were really good, though I prefer the one with Jennifer Connelly.

i love labyrinth, it's the best jim henson movie. it's the best role of jennifer connelly, she didn't have any other movie role that was as good as labyrinth.
maybe it had to do with advertising, that movie was cutting edge when it came out.

I never understood that, it's an excellent movie. It might have to do with the fact that it looks like a children's movie, but still appeald to adults.

I almost -- ALMOST -- cried when the little girl died. She wasn't supposed to die. That was not a predictable ending, which is why I love the movie. And I could certainly understand why it took so much money to make it. Have you seen the graphics??? They were so good.
