Well, maybe. It really depends on how much risk you're willing to take. Also, it's not enough to buy "pocket PC's or hybrid cars", because it also matters which company you choose. I'd be ok with Toyota, but not Ford, as an investment. Apple is decent, but it's getting expensive, and the company has a habit of following up good periods with bad, so be sure you don't try to hold it forever. I like Research In Motion (the Blackberry maker), too, but again, the stock is too expensive right now. Sometimes, you can make more money by investing in the smaller supertechnologies...the great new stuff that everyone isn't already thinking of, like NetGear, who is making a Skype phone, or something like that.

I like both apple and toyota but the cell market is dicey. I would stick with AAPL and TM
