Censoring music is essentially binding one's creativity.

Music is already censored, the are edited versions. For instance, in hip-hop/rap and even r&b; artists put out to different versions of their albums one that is on the softer side and the other that may require that "Parental Advisory Sticker." If one doesn't like the music that is being put out, they don't have to listen to it. Censorship is often viewed as a means to protecting society as a whole but by censoring music we are inadvertently punishing others for expressing themselves as music is often held as an artform. Censoring music is like creating what you feel is a magnificant painting only to have 1/3 of your piece shown because the rest of it is deemed offensive on the basis of the subjectivism.

i think it depends on what they are saying. people always get on rap because its a big genre but have you heard some of the rock songs? they are even worst most of the time. but people do have freedom of speech and you can't really stop them. its their creativity and if it sells then they will make more $ and then other artists see that's the area where the $ is made and they start cussing and all that. but to answer your question; i think that's up to the person to decide. if they want their minds to be thinking of those things, let them, its more about what you put in yours. but in most cases it should be because little kids listen to their sibling or cousins or whoever;s music and they don't need to be saying that or even know the context...hope it helped

No you can't "censor" anyone's creativity, however, I do agree with parental advisory labels being put on music because while adults and should be able to listen to whatever they want, children should be protected.

Sometimes. Busta Rhymes, Redman, Tech N9NE, Ice Cube, DMX... that stuff should be censored. Black Eyed Peas, RARELY.

I say No way, but it really doesn’t matter. The means of marketing music to the public, i.e. the radio, T.V. are censored anyway.

I don't believe in government censorship. I do believe in self censorship. If it offends you turn it off or don't buy. But don't tell other people what they can and cannot listen to.

YES, DEFINATELY. ESPECIALLY THOSE SONGS THAT HAVE SUBLIMINAL (aka. SATANIC) MESSAGES.

Do you think it is funny that Britney Spears says in one of her songs "sleep with me I'm not too young", when you play it backwards???

Do you think it is funny that Freddy Mercury says in one of his songs "it's fun to smoke marihuana", when you play it backwards???

Do you think it is funny that Led Zeppelin says in one of his songs "here's to my sweet satan, oh satan satan", when you play it backwards???

For all of those who think what I said before was serious, then you are stupid. Music is art. Art is controversial. Art is natural. Art shold NOT be censored. SO DEAL WITH IT. All of those who don't have a life and spend their useless hours listening to music backwards because they have nothing more interesting and lucrative to do in life, then you might wanna consider taking a break and thinking about how stupid you are.

Take it as an insult or not, people should REALLY stop being such retards.

BTW, censored is spelled incorrectly...
