i checked the mani eceltricity board and everything is turned on but one light is off....i have no idea what that is...
i have to fix it befor my parents caome..the electricity is only off in the kitchen and two other rooms.....pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeese help

Try turning off and on each circuit breaker in the electrical panel. Someimes they look like they are on , but are tripped.

One of your plugs may have a gfi. It will have a couple of buttons that you can push to get the electricity back on. Most of the have a light also. Check the plug where the light is plugged in and also check in the same room. This may sound stupid but did you check the light bulb. Hope this helps.

GO TO THE MAIN PANEL AT THE ELECTRIC METER OUTSIDE OF THE HOUSE, TURN OFF ALL OF THE CIRCUIT BREAKERS AND THEN TURN THEM BACK ON AGAIN, THIS SHOULD RESET THE SPRINGS INSIDE THE MAIN PANEL, ALSO YOU MAY HAVE A SUB PANEL INSIDE THE HOUSE TOO. DO THE SAME THING AT THE SUB PANEL. IF THIS DOES NOT WORK, YOU MAY NEED TO HAVE AN ELECTRICIAN CHECK THE MAIN PANEL. PROBABLY A BAD CIRCUIT BREAKER, NOT YOUR FAULT. THESE THINGS HAPPEN,

If you have a fuse box, you need to replace a fuse. If it's a breaker box, check for breaker for those rooms. Flip it off, then back on. Usually does the trick for me.

My best guess is a GFCI outlet. Look for an outlet with two buttons on it. One is usually red and the other black. One says Reset and the other says Test. Push the Reset button.
