on a serious note, if you have an LPG conversion then it will increase the performance by up to 40% and it will increase your fuel economy, its a win win situation
Another option is to have it de-catted (taking the catalytic converter off the exhaust) the cat. provides added resistance in the exhaust which reduces the performance but makes it cleaner for the atmosphere. However this is illegal
There are millions of other modifications that claim to "increase your bhp by ten million" but those two are the only real ones that make any difference to the actual performance rather than make it look pretty or sound like a ferrari.

The LDV Pilot used PSA's 1.9-litre diesel XUD9 engine, used in a variety of other models - mostly Peugeot and Citroén, but also the 1991-1996 Rover 218 and late versions of the FSO Polonez.
It should be possible to transplant a PSA turbodiesel engine (XUD7T or XUD9T), but you will have to find a good location for the intercooler - the Rover used a remote intercooler that would probably work better than the intercooler mounted on top of the engine used in Peugeots and Citroëns.
Do not try to tubocharge the existing engine - it does not have the spare cooling capacity to cope. The turbodiesel engines used different blocks.
