of proportionality in retribution?

Even assuming that you forget about the Golden Rule for a moment and instead assume that the "eye for an eye" code is the more valid Christian precept of retribution, hasn't the Bush administration violated even THAT principle?

The Bush administration's decision to invade Iraq has directly led to the deaths of at least 100,000 innocent Iraqis from cluster bombs, uranium shells, etc., according to the most conservative estimates. And these Iraqis had nothing to do with either 911 or Saddam's regime.

So if only roughly 3,000 Americans died on 911 and more than 100,000 innocent Iraqis have died due to Bush deciding to invade, doesn't that violate every conceivable Christian precept of proportionality in retribution for wrongs?

Isn't that saying that an American life is worth more than an Iraqi life? Doesn't that violate every Christian precept that all of God's creatures are equal in his eyes?

And mind you, I'm leaving aside the point that Saddam and Iraq had NOTHING to do with 911, just for the sake of this argument.

LOL, I got such a laugh out of Sane's response that I had to add another note.

So Bush isn't responsible for ANY deaths, even though he was the one ultimately responsible for deciding to invade Iraq...but on the other hand, left wing liberals, most of whom have NOTHING to do with the decision to go to war and in fact opposed it and also aren't even directly involved in the conflict, they ARE responsible for deaths?

LOL, I gotta tell ya, the logic of some of you cons is so astoundingly bad that it's simply comical. All you can do is laugh at it.

LOL, I'm not a Christian, but I'm not attacking Christian principles in this post either. I'm simply pointing out that Bush's actions violate even the most basic Christian precepts of proportionality in retribution for wrongs.

Ok kvery, let's even use the lowest Iraqi body count number in the link you provided.

65,000 Iraqis killed
6,000 Americans killed

Even using your numbers that still works out to 1 American life being worth nearly 11 Iraqi lives.

So your point about my body count estimate being too high is irrelevant unless you want to argue that an American life isn't worth 17 Iraqi lives, but it IS worth 11.

The most important Christian principle violated by this war is the Just War Principle.

Christians believe that there are certain, limited circumstances in which war is justified.

* Last resort (diplomatic options not exhausted)
* Legitimate authority (U.N. refused to authorize invasion)
* To redress a wrong suffered (Iraq not behind 9/11)
* Reasonable chance of success (we all know how that turned out)
* Goal to re-establish peace (as opposed to broadening an empire)
* Proportional to injury suffered (even if it was in response to 9/11, does that justify destroying a country?)
* Discriminate between combatants and civilians (no way)

As you can see, the Iraq war violates all the tenets of the Christian just war theory.

I don't know what religion George W. Bush is, but it certainly isn't Christianity.

Bush has absolutely killed WAY more Iraqis than Saddam did. To answer your second question, Bush is not a Christian. Bush is an Ashkenazi Jew that practices Talmudism (Kaballah). This is an ancient form of Satanism. Bush is offering U.S. troop blood to his god, Satan. In reward, Bush is given MONEY (Mammon) by Satan. Most of the Federal Government, the Federal Reserve, the Pentagon, the Supreme Court, Homeland Security, and the mainstream media is made up of Talmudist Jews and other Satanists from other secret societies (Skull and Bones, Freemasons, etc.).

Killing is bad whether it looks bad in the eyes of Christ, Ram or Allah. Anyone who kills is bad whether it be Musharraff in Kashmir, Iraqis in Iraq and Americans in Iraq. All should take a leaf out of the patience of the Indians who have suffered/suffering so much of terror in selective pockets clearly initiated by Musharaf regime to keep his military/ISI engaged and happy. If India had wanted to retaliate it could have done in a very big way and fished in the already dirty waters of Pakistan. But Indians do have respect for ordinary citizens of Pakistan who are considered no less than their own citizens in many ways.

Such an altruitic attitude from the world's largest democracy should be taken as an example by Bush whereas he has clearly sided with the a military dictator to further his wrongful policies. They are prone to fail and retaliate badly in future. If Pakistan goes mad when US at some point of time stops all the dole outs, it would be dangerous for USA than any other country. Bush has put his country in a vicious cycle.

First President Bush didn't kill anybody. And the biggest share of the Iraqis deaths are from their own. I am a Christian and I hate war as well as the next, but if you read the Bible there will always be wars-unfortunately. I don't take it to the extreme you do but I also believe God knows what is going on and He knows better than I how it should be handled. So I pray, it's the most powerful weapon there is. And I know, I'll get blasted for this but that's OK.

The poor little neocons can only do name calling. so I'm going to do them a favor, and point out that had Saddam died of natural causes 10 years from now, it's POSSIBLE that there would be some sort of civil war.

But Bush wanted his bloodlust vengence, accidentally let it slip in a speech it was for tryting to kill his daddy. Of course, Bush supporters will argue that this doesn't count because it wasn't under oath/ not a FULL confession ect. Fact is the Iraq war was a goal (it was hardly planned, as history has shown) with Bush wanting vengence and Cheney earning his $35 million from Halliburton.

If Bush didn't violate Christian principles, no one violates Christian principles.

No, Bush hasn't killed anyone. However, I do think that left wing liberals have by their actions, and they all should be punished for those deaths and endangering the rest of us. Chrisitanity has nothing to do with it so lets knock off with the insults to people of faith. If you realy want to point a finger and actually do some good then start getting outraged at radical islamic terrorists, they have ALL of the rest of the blood on their hands that the liberals don't.

First of all you are assuming facts not in evidence. The military forces of the United States have not killed 100,000 civilians. Have that many died...maybe but most are Muslim on Muslim killings and IED's placed in common areas designed to kill the population of Iraq.

What of the millions killed by Saddam? Torture and rape rooms? Should it have been allowed to continue? He was tried and convicted by hie own people.

No one ever said Iraq was part of 9-11 but did they support terrorists? YES
Did he use chemical weapons on his own people? YES
Did they find some? YES
Could he have prevented the war? YES He was asked multiple times to allow real inspections (remember Clinton said he was a real threat as well as most of the world)

Grow up and realize these extremist will be trying to kill us somewhere. I would rather they be fought there than on our soil. Freedom is not free. I have served my country and fought for our freedoms, what have you done other than sit back and armchair quarterback the war?

I agree with you totally, with the exception of one thing, Our troops were sent to Irag and I support them, they are our family, so to speak, now it is the different sects within Iraq that are doing a great deal of the killing. We started all of this when we moved from where we should have been to where this administration wanted us to be from the beginning. Every person is equal in God's eyes, even the least of us. We have lost many, they have lost many more. We are all failing God's principles.

Innocents are killed every day by US and roadside bombs both, not just one...The problem with Bush supporters is that they truly believe if you take out 10 innocent people to get one terrorist, you've done a good job...yet if the Iraqi's responded the same way towards our troops when this happenned, they'd be up in arms, saying basically that it's different because of who's involved.
