She seems to think I will go full term, but I don't know how to stand the pain until that point. The dr. can't even fit me in until Friday! What do I do?

Ultra sounds aren't completely accurate. I have had three babies ranging from about 8 1/2 pounds to 10 pounds, the size didn't matter. What hurt was labor. Pushing that baby out is a relief!

My daughter was born 8 lbs 1 ounce. They thought she was going to be small up until the very end of my pregnancy. The ultrasound I had the day before still had her weight at least a half a pound off.

I'm in the same boat...i think. My baby is gonna be a big one according to the last sono. Either way...this baby will come when the time is right. Anyway, you only have a week left. The baby is probably not going to be too far over 9 pounds. My friend just delivered one at 10.6 vaginally. Be thankful you are not having an 11 pounder.

I had an ultrasound at 37 weeks with my daughter. They told me she was over 8lbs already and to expect a BIG baby. I didnt give birth until 3 weeks later. If you know anything about pregnancy a baby is supposed to gain a half of a pound a week so she SHOULD have been over 9.5lbs at birth.

My daughter ws 6lbs 15oz at birth which means she was only around 5.5lbs at the ultrasound.

I had an ultrasound a month before my due date and they said he was over 7 lbs. Nothing I did would start labor. They didn't want to induce until after my due date. I was in labor for 42 hours, pushed for 3 hours, and finally had a c-section. 9lbs 10oz.
Maybe you could ask them to strip your membranes. But if your aren't showing signs that you're ready for delivery, pushing it can cause more problems. If you have begun to dilate or if you have "dropped", you may be closer than you think.
Good luck!

You're gonna have a big baby! If you're at all dialated by the time your due date gets here, you may want to think about asking to be induced.
I actually insisted on induction the beginning of my 41st week. (luckily I was at 3cm) Didn't want to induce when it was mentioned 2 weeks prior because it wasn't natural. Then I started getting this weird feeling that my baby was just getting way too big. Thank god I did. She was 9lbs.3ozs. 22inches long. Thats more than a 1/3 of my height. Literally ripped me a new one.

Oh boy do i feel your pain or what!!!!!! I go in tomorrow hoping to be induced due to this baby being 8 lbs as well and my body not even starting to dialate. I would book it for Fri and wait it out! We're almost there!!

Don't worry, you'll make it. THe ultrasound weight estimations are just that, estimations. They can be off, especially when done in later pregnancy. Mine said my girls were almost a pound heavier than they actually were. Best of luck.

Dotn trust the ultrasound measurements. They can only estimate especially at this late point. My son was 2 pounds bigger than his estimate and HIS was done the very day he was born!
