Why are the works of T. S. Eliot so highly regarded?

Personally, I felt as though I could get lost in his poetry. You can wander through them and find so many issues..the symbolism allows them to apply to many emotional issues. The juxtapositions of time in The Wasteland are amazing...and his use of imagery. If you have an imagination, it's fantastic poetry.

Because they are not easy to understand and usually that works in the poet's favor.

they are arranged in a style that may scare readers away from enjoying poetry.
