It's not a new idea. The Secret claims that if you visualize something, it will happen. Ummm...no. If you put hard work, planning and effort into it, maybe. But just thinking about it isn't going to make it happen.
But I know what the REAL secret is. Write a self-help book full of old cliche's and ideas, and get Oprah to talk about it on her show, and you'll make millions of dollars.

While I think it is helpful to think positively and I believe in Karma, the Secret goes too far for me. It's making people follow like sheep just because Oprah had it on her show. People may forgo using good judgement based belief in the Secret and the laws of attraction it promotes.

It is just a phase. This too will pass. Look at it if you are intrigued just remember it is not the answer to the mysteries of the Universe. Oprah herself says she has a problem with how The Secret only addresses one aspect of life.

I think it's just another stupid craze that I don't care about and I'm not interested in paying attention too.
I also don't like Oprah Despite the airs she puts on I can't help but feel like she's a snob.

The Secret is nonsense. The Secret is this: If you think positive thoughts AND work hard to achieve your dreams, you will achieve them. So basically, all it is realy saying is, you will get what you want if you take the correct steps to get them.
The converse and evil side of the secret is that they say if bad things happen to you, it is because you have negative thoughts. Therefore, the Jews who died in the Nazi Holocaust deserved what they got because they all had negative thoughts. That is the message that The Secret offers.

Most of what I was watching on Oprah about the secret was already known to me. So it was nothing new.
Wicca has taught me what is contained in the "secret". Its not new just re-hashed and a modern take on what witches have known for ages.

I think it is a great principle. Jesus taught this same idea -- "Ask and you shall receive," "Anything that you ask for in faith shall be given to you."
However, I think that we all need to remember that it is God that gives us these things, and not just "the Universe." We are not gaining these things through our own personal power, but because we trust the natural laws that God has set up.
These is a real principle that works, especially when we include God in the equation.

It's great. The secret taught me to be thankful to the creator, ALWAYS. And reminded me of the importance of prayer. And to be careful of whom I'm attracting in my life!
