are illegals needed?

while we send work overseas (and to mexico/south america), do we really need illegals staying here and obtaining work? they take our jobs in their homelands, and they take our jobs in our homeland, yet i see some hispanic on larry king giving him fruit and talking passionately about it as if its some "very special" gift from the illegals. we can get fruit elsewhere.

The illegals from Mexico work for a lower wage than Americans would. If illegals were not available, many Americans would do the work but at a higher pay. The higher the wages paid, the higher the prices of the final product.

So, some people need them, some people don't.
By and large, employers need them, laborers would do better economically without them

Nope, but businesses would rather pay them virtually nothing and bribe (lobby if you prefer) the gov't to not enforce the laws or go after the real offenders-the corporations.

Illegals take away the power of labor by undercutting the lowest paid workers. Business can get away with anything because the workers know they can be replaced with illegals at half the price, so the only companies suffering from illegal immigation are the morale ones who refuse to hire them.

Not only can we get what they offer elsewhere, we can get it without giving up our power to influence business and thus keep our say in gov't that is dwindling.

No, but in a free trade economy they are invaluable. The reason that they work cheap is because of thier illegal status, and the fact that they don't speak English. If they understood English and didn't have legal threats, they would work for more without fear. Who in here has seen Canadians work for $10 an hour in the sun doing back breaking labor? Exploitation is wrong. The tax dollars don't get paid by a fake social security number, and Mexico refuses to teach English to these desperate people. This is unfair to the illegal immigrants and unfair to the American Economy. Bring in the guest worker program and document these people. Have them pay taxes and teach them English. Then if they chose grant them citizenship.

Of course we do not need any illegal immigrants. The corporations of America are just outsourcing our jobs and giving our jobs to others so they do not have to pay them as much money as us. And what happens over here? We have no jobs. And what happens when we have no jobs? We cannot buy the things the corporations make. And what happens then? The economical system gets destroyed. It's a very bad thing they are doing. But they do not care, as long as they are getting their money now.

No, we really do not need illegals staying here and obtaining work. Yes they do take jobs in this country that could be filled by American citizens.

Any justification given by our President or Legislature for illegals to remain in this country is pure "crap" to put it bluntly. They have simply shown that they are weak - unable to properly enforce law in this country and "soft" and "cheap" for keeping on the illegals who work for them!!!!

The United States Constitution says congressional power is given to "establish a uniform rule of naturalization". Giving amnesty to illegals is most certainly does not conform to "uniform rule" and allowing them to stay here and work is the path to "naturalization". Have they (those in Washington) forgotten what is contained in the US Constitution regarding "powers" or is it that they believe the American people to be ignorant and easily led?

The only "very special" gift illegals will give this country is our own destruction

Illegals are favored by business as cheap, undocumented, tax evading work. No benefits required.

Are they needed? No.

And if they offer amnesty to the ones here now, that means they are not below the radar anymore, and companies will have to pony up benefits, etc.

They will be fired, and replaced by new, non-documented illegals.

The only solution to this problem is to fine the people who hire them into bankruptcy.

Immigrants are needed - they enrich our culture in many ways. ILLEGALS are just that - criminals who just need to go back to their own country or do what it takes to be legalized here. Personally I don't care where my fruit comes from. But I will boycott any company I find out hires illegals.

By the way, we are not responsible for improving Mexico. The Mexican government, (to whom we give a lot of money anyway) is responsible for that.

1. Pay a dollar or more for one apple or other single piece of fruit? How about $10 for a small basket of strawberries?
2. Work for less than minimum wage doing back breaking work picking fruit or veggies?

worked with illegals in a company,,they got paid the same as the rest of us,,and they are some who are in this country that gets tax breaks from our goverment,,,one weeks pay,,,mine verus's my co-workers,,i paid over $150 bucks in taxes,,for the same hours,,,he only paid,,5 cents in S.C. state taxes,,and no federal taxes...he claimed 6 dependents that also work with me,,they claimed each other to help reduce taxes,,sooo,,cheaper labor isnt the topic in this state,,they should pay their share of taxes!
And,,I will say this,,the immergrants will show up for work,,most do not work good,,,wher I worked at,,,but at least they showed up for work when the americans would lay out to fish hunt drink etc..or have their mother die for the third time in a year..Americas problem,,,most of us have got lazy as hell and expect for a hand out!!!
I dont agree with illegals or immergrants here,,,but,,some companies cant relay on the american workers..between that and the lawsuits they have agaist them..i
