a Year or less. Jail is for people to are waiting to be convicted or serving less than a year.
Prison is for people who are serving more than one year after a conviction.
Each crime and the stipulations around the incident has a different sentence. You need to look up the legislative laws in your state to find out what is the punishable sentence for each crime.
Early Release on good behavior is not available in every state either. Here in New Hampshire people are to do the full sentence they were given. They are not able to get early release or any sentence reduction on good behavior.

Jails are typically county-run facilities, for prisoners awaiting trial or sentenced to less than a year of incarceration.
Prisons, in contrast, are state-run facilities for prisoners sentenced to a year or more.
Specific sentences depend on the crime, the defendant's record and other history, the impact on the victim, and other relevant factors taken into account by the judge. There is no "usual" jail sentence.

It depends on the sentence and how overcrowded the jail are where they are sentenced to serves; many sentences are halved for every by earning 1 day for every 1 day of good behavior. If their is overcrowding where the inmate is sentence, the ratio could be higher.

relies upon on the offense and the area. some states, with stable habit, the inmate serves approximately 60% of their sentence.... different states can selection. Federal time is 'greenback for greenback'.. simply by fact of this in case you get 4 years, you will do 4 years... no stable time, no early launch. desire this helped.
