To what extent do you think a man's stupid behavior is influenced by a need to please his friends?

I don't mean it as male bashing. I'm just a woman. I just mean it as a clinical question. Not a judgment.

I'm very aware that girls are influenced by their friends. (but if they are in a relationship, they are very influenced by their man too.)

I would think that it's a large part of it. Peer pressure and peer acceptance plays a huge part in adolescent development in boys - larger than in girls, and I would imagine that the need to impress, please, and fit in with "the guys" continues into adulthood.

Consider that males don’t really outgrow the adolescent “sport” of bashing their friends, or of ripping on a guy if he’s “whipped” to too involved in a relationship. Call it “male bonding” or just call it stupid behavior, it’s all the same thing.

Why blame it on his friends? Maybe he's just an idiot. Maybe he doesn't care that much about what you think. Maybe he should be able to do whatever he likes and not be repressed by your version of what a man should do.

Is this your b/f? If so, you choose to be with him, bad behavior and all.

Don't limit this question to men either. Stupid and cave man as they sometimes are, in my experience men are by far the more rational and reasonable of the two sexes.

to the point of making a fool of himself in front of someone important to him...(usually something that hard to forgive or forget)

It knows no bounds, but really depends on the man. Some are sheep that get herded and some are more mature about things and do the herding.

depends on the guy.

hope this helped.

Depending on his age...well if he is still immature 18-45yrs..(ha ha...just kidding guys)...well you know...usually into their early 30's if they do ever outgrow the immaturity...ALOT of their stupid behavioir can be influenced by his buds. HOWEVER...with that being said...he DOES have his own brain....and it is NO excuse...he can choose the stupidity or to act a bit more grown up and go against the grain.

Yeah I think you mean straight guys and it's that need to impress on their part. I don't get it, I just sit there and watch it... it's more entertaining looking from the outside in at their stupid stunts and pranks on each other or whatever. It's just the desire to be accepted and to be well liked... Every group has their own version of this. :)

More when they are younger than when they age, The older they get.. I think its more of "do I have better toys than my friends."
You know what they say.. You can make a boy a man, but you can never take away the boy.

i don't agree with that at all.. if he is looking for somebody to please his friends then i am sure he aint a man.. he shouldn't be acting stupid in the first place.. a real man's behavior can never be influenced by any need to please his friends.. i hope u understand

To a man, friends are very important. Never ask a man to give up his friends, you may be sorely disappointed.
