We know everything and nothing.
To thy own-self be true.
"Oh the gift that God could give us, to see ourselves as others see us". Robert Burns.
Give a person a fish and feed them for a day, teach them to fish and feed them for life.
Do not judge others until you walk a mile in their shoes.

A person should be mature enough to ask a question here and to think over the answers given here by all kind of people. People here are from different backgrounds, some have learnt hard truth of lives and some are still growing up!
Before following someone's advice a person must think if it is truly going to help him/her. And also the asker should understand that people say what they feel and think, it doesnt mean that they are truly right or wrong.
So this completely depends on the asker whether to take an answer seriously or not.

Aren't people coming here to get answers in the first place? I realize that some really only ask questions to be validated and some only answer to get points or to project their autobiography without trying to answer the question , but the asker is looking for advice that will help them. It is up to the asker to take or reject the given advice, they choose to be affected. It is the job of the answerer to give a sincere answer on questions they have actual valid points on. The answerer doesn't always do his job, neither does the asker. The bottom line is that there is no "we", judge the individual by his questions or answers. The person who says he knows it all has just demonstrated how little he truly knows.

Care that we are affecting lives? Just because a person is affecting another life, it does not mean that person has just been affected badly. And the person who answers the question is most definetly not the soul affector; the person who asked the question brought upon the answer. He or she knew what was coming: an answer.
Some who answer questions may infact care about how they just affected another life. While some others may just be answering questions for fame or just points perhaps. It is all up to the individual.
As for your main question: No, I think we know far from everything.

Allot of my answers are simply personal opinion. But I am very carefull in answering some questions particularly to do with health where misinformation could have very negative affects. I don't want to hurt anyone by being rude or critical and try to be sensitive. Some of the people asking questions and giving or reading the answers may be vulnerable people or children, so I try to take care in my questions and answers.

I really, truly, honestly care...and I try to give the BEST advice I can...on subjects I have experience in...if it is a subject I know little to none about....I do not post an answer...
There are some people on here (I would bet they are little kids) who give some of the most asinine answers I have ever seen....they don't seem to realize they can potentially do great harm....
Too bad Yahoo doesn't have a way of posting ages with answers...

I actually care about all the answers I give. I give honest thought to my answers before I post them. The only ones I don't are the people who ask questions to give other people points. My answers are answered to the best of my ability and they are answered the best way I know how depending on what information the person gave in their questions. So yes I do take yahoo answers seriously. I'm sure some people on here don't take it very seriously...but speaking for myself...I really honestly do take it seriously.

I just answer so i can get points! Oh, and also because there are some questions that i have not asked myself yet, and the motivation of getting more points makes me figure the answer out as I'm typing. I've found that teaching others is a good way of learning, especially when they have good questions.

How elese can we give advice? When given 2 sentences about a person's problem, we have no option but to project what we already know onto the solution.
If we had time like a therapist, to get to know them, we could give diff answers.

I do care and try to give the best advice. I do care and I don't pretend that I know every thing. No.
