Remembered the sacrifices that my SELF (Retired Military), my SIBLINGS (Still Serving), and Our FATHER (WWII Paraplegic Veteran -- deceased) made when we VOLUNTEERED to do what others will not .. which is to serve in the US Armed Forces, and to "Protect and Defend the Constitution of the United States".
Also during the long weekend we got a LOT of progress on the Home Renovations that are going on at one sibling's home -- as well as general work done on the farm.
UNFORTUNATELY -- one of the more stressful things was late on the Memorial Day weekend we had one of the horses getting spooked, and get injured. That was very scary -- but ... given that stupid idiots during the night were going out into the more rural areas (like where the farm is) and shooting off fireworks (which definitely SCARE the Horses for sure) ... THAT is what concerns me -- that these idiots would be SO UNCARING about others and domesticated livestock that they think it may be "funny" to spook a horse or cow or any other animal.
VERY Busy weekend -- but we did and do reflect on the sacrifices that ALL Military Servicemembers make during their Service Careers. That is something that everyone should reflect on at both Memorial Day as well as Veterans Day -- and to THANK a Servicemember is all we ask -- just two words -- THANK YOU.
Other than that -- due to renovations at MY HOME and my Sibling's home -- I've seen more of the insides and made more purchases from Home Improvement/Lumber/Farm Stores than anywhere else over the past couple of years. Can't remember what it is like to do anything else!

well first i got home at about 7:30 am, from 3rd shift work. i went into my bedroom to get my video camera prepped up to video to the Memorial day parade. after that. i went to sleep, and woke up at 9:30am, with just thirty minutes before the parade began. i didn't have to go far to get to the parade as it goes past my apartment, and i live on the first floor, so over the porch railing i went.
i took my video camera and did some pre-recording before the parade started. i walked down the street, and over to our library as i had thought that the parade would begin there as it always had. then i over heard some people saying that the parade begins way back on the other side. so i walked all the way back to my apartment side.
the parade began at about 10:15am. i was having fun, but as the parade was going by, it was already ending. the parade lasted then ten minutes. you see the city is big and rich, but yet the city doesn't have the money to put on a big parade.
all three high school bands were in the parade, one fire truck. six different sets of army, and former military personal, the mayor, three different other city officals, and a boy scott group.
i took my video camera home, and burned it to DVD. the time run was 8minutes, and 54seconds, and only used up to frames of DVD space. to make the DVD longer, i added the footage of things i video taped mintues before the parade started. that there gave two more minutes.
later on in the afternoon, my family and i grilled brats, and hotdogs. they were verry taste. then about 2:30pm i had to rest up as i had to go to work later on in the evening.
so my memorial day had it's up's and down's (having to go to work was the down's). all and all it was a good day.
