im looking to go away in august to sharm el sheikh in eygpt, but cant find it anywhere cheap enough? a friend finds her holidays on the net all the time, but i cant find anything! the usually first choice, thompsons, thomas cook etc are all over £1000 for what im looking for?

Not sure if it'll help or not, but head over to http://www.resideo.com/eg/sharmelsheikh/ and click the "Check Availability" button. Choose your dates, then sort the results by price -- that will put the lowest-priced rooms first in the list.

sharm el sheikh should be quite a cheap destination as they have a lot of resorts.
sky travel shop also have cheap deals on the internet.
don't take any websites description of the accomodation as said though, it's best to cut and paste the name of the accomocation into Trip Advisor to see what people who have already been there have said about the place!
teletext holidays are quite good and so are gotravel.
just make sure that you're holiday is ATOL protected otherwise, if things go wrong, you are not insured or covered to change venue.

Sharm el S. Do not look at the big travel companies. Big rip off. `If you opt for the tented village of Sharm el S, you can get Flights and Accomm. for around £225 per person. No meals, but transport to/from the village.
On site there is a supermarket - good prices. Meals in small digos on site are reasonable. Avoid large restaurants and hotels. Rip off merchants. Friends did a Self Catering Break - good fun. Who wants to be stuck in an hotel in all that heat.

you dont need a package easy got a taxi at the airport for around £10 for any hotel in sharm but do go to best hotel you can afford.

well if ur going to luxor then st josephs is nice with a pool,sun terrace,restaraunt on the top so u can see all of luxor and the nile also across the west bank ware hatchepsuts temple is,its abt depending on when u want to go say july abt 20-25 pound per nite.

Try going through ebookers.com they did a fairly good deal for me when I went to America, all the travel agents you mentioned will be more expensive, you want to try more independant ones.
Book flights and hotels seperately etc.

i book my hols to egypt with 'travel republic' on line we booked last july for 2 people to a 5star hotel all inclusive from manchester for 11 nights and it cost just under 900pounds for two people
