So have you been taking ANTIBIOTICS for anything in the last year?
Antibiotics kill off the healthy bacteria in our bodies which allows the bad bacteria grow. As it gains ground it can be in our vagina, intestines, entire digestive tract.
This is a simple solution to help solve it . Basically your PH, the good and bad bacteria are out of balance. I know this will sound RIDICULOUS, BUT IT WORKS . Eat yogurt (it contains the live culture healthy bacteria) every day and get a bottle of Acidophiles in the vitamin department and take one a day. This will help put the healthy stuff back into your system.
This is the Ridiculous part. When the Doctor would tell me use Yogurt, I always thought he meant eat it. But I finally learned he meant use a little of it vaginally. I finally started doing that when I needed to , about 2 tablespoons, use your fingers and put it in every nook and cranny. Every day for a week or two is probably a good idea. I did it twice in one week and still seem to have the problem. Now I am on it every day. NO, I AM NOT JOKING. Use the no sugar (sugar feeds the yeast infection) and no fruit, I use vanilla (just put 2 tablespoons in a little custard cup and smuggle it to the bathroom) I am much older than you and it still seems ridiculous. But your vaginal area will feel better immediately.
Good Luck, I hope this helps.

There is one that I use for infections and it works super fast. A lot of people don't believe it or thinks it is stupid. But hey it works for me and is very cheap. I keep a box at home for when one flares up on me.
I take Alka-Seltzer original, follow the directions on the box, take it ever 4 hours. After taking the first dose of it, with in an hour the burning during urination and the pain is gone. It kills the infection in about 6-8 hours. If the infection is bad, you might have to take as many as 4 doses of it. The most that I have ever taken was 3. The last dose I would take would be at night before going to bed, the next morning I was infection free as it will kill it.
It works so much faster than the other meds out there for infection and is so much cheaper. Yes I know what Alka-Seltzer is used for, but I read about it some where and decided to give it a try as I was tired of the other stuff not working fast enough. I was very surprised as to how fast it did work.
Sorry that you can't talk to your mom about this, but I guess I can under stand a little. My own daughter came to me with her infection and I told her about this and now she takes it too.
Keep in mind that all infections are not caused from having sex, and your mom needs to learn that too. By the way, I am 50 years old.

You can buy an over-the-counter treatment, but if you've not had a yeast infection before, you should see a doctor. There are other infections that can cause the same type of symptoms, including bacterial vaginosis, which does require a prescription medication to treat. Good luck.

Yeast infections do not have to have anything to do with sex. People who never have sex can develop a yeast infection. Yeast grows in dark moist places and is caused by chemical changes in our bodies , sometimes caused by our diets. My first one was at the age of 13 - and I was not sexually active. Have your mom speak to your doctor or read up on yeasts infection on webmd or another such site.
You can use an OTC medication but they are not as strong as one the doctor can give you and it may return if not strong enough. Good luck.

A yeast infection is characterized by a creamy discharge and itching. It's easily treated with over-the-counter products from the pharmacy, such as Monistat. You don't have to go to the doctor for it unless it doesn't go away after treatment. To help reduce the chance of getting another yeast infection, always keep the area clean and dry, and wear cotton underwear.

You should go to a planned parenthood near you, they are confidential...
An STD if left untreated can seriously affect you in so many ways, nto to mention make you sterile.
If it is a yeast infection go speak to a pharmacist to see what over the counter method is best.

There is on over the counter cream called Monistat. You might want to try that. It usually helps if you have itching and stuff. But if symptoms persist, I would go see a geneocologist. It could be something that needs a prescription pill.

I know it sounds bad but Plain Yogurt will actually kill a yeast infection. Do some google searches if you need help on how to administer. Cheap and effective.

Without describing your symptoms, how can anyone conclude that you have a fungal infection?
And it is in your best interest to visit a doctor, if you dont want your mom to know, take your doctor into confidence, but please do not try to selfmedicate....
