I rarely, if ever point. The only time I extend a finger is the middle one when someone does something incredibly stupid near and/or to me when I'm driving. (So, I suppose my answer is: drive safely and sensibly and I won't point.)

Hmmm, this question raises questions.
Typically, I only point at something of interest so others see it.
That's more out of curiosity and interest.
