I have a feeling that most African Americans are aware of this fact, but choose to ignore it; because blaming the White man is far easier than admitting they were screwed by thier own people.
Another fact that most people find convienient to forget is that slavery, while wrong, was a widely accepted practice in most parts of the world, and continued for centuries even after the end of the American civil war. Slavery lasted in Spain until well after the 1920's.

wow the comments are scary yes it is know and i teach my children and grandchild because you see the black on black crimes are still real today. But there would have been no slavery if there were no buyers (whites). and further more did you know that when people were tired of this offense and the American government wanted no more to do with it Mexico and Spain were ready to take them off of the traders hand at a very cheap price and even for free. people are people and all are born into a sinful nature. Actually if you read your staff, the Blacks that where captured by blacks were mostly prisoners who were sold of to other countries. Then Arabs came in and started to kidnape a lot of blacks..
However the greatest kindnappings where actually done by white people. That's why this has been published as much.
You know what, Black people dont just mourn, they mourn when they see prejudices from people like some people here.

Its common knowledge.
It is ignored by people who want to make a point to get what they want. It is not relevant anyway though, the debate over slavery is over. A bunch of people did stuff wrong. It has since been made up for the the best of our ability.

Publicizing such facts would deminish greatly the "Professional Vicitm" status. To have to acknowledge that "trifle" fact, would mean that someone other than those popularly believed to be the guilty perpetrators would have to step up and own their part of this history. Can you just imagine how unpalettable that would be? No more sacred cow status.

I don't know. But either way these men that were the spoils of tribal wars would have suffered. It's a fact that we should not have dealt in slavery but it's also a fact that they were sold out by their own kind.

It is known but, ignored. Blacks do not want to face the fact that their own people sold them out to begin with.

That IS a fact. They were bribed by the white men who came over with gold and other riches which they received very little of and also escaped capture themselves.
