A gift is from the heart, a bribe is an expectation for something in return. But also keep in mind some people come bearing gifts for the wrong intent.
It really can get confusing. Just like giving Christmas gifts, why do some people after receiving a gift complain that they do not like the gift and what they gave was so much better.
I guess Christmas gift is a bad example, because it would be a Christmas present, which a present can be a combination of a gift and a bribe.

In government or business, a gift is something given to influence a decision maker in generality but not in specificity. For instance, you know that a senator likes a type of scotch, the next time you see the senator, you give him a bottle of scotch. There is an implicit effort to gain that person's favor, but there is no expectation that a favor will be returned, such as a vote on a bill.
A bribe is when you are enticing someone to violate their duty to their position, this is called their fiduciary duty. For instance, a customs officer is not supposed to allow pet food with a certain chemcial into the US from China. Someone goes to the customs officer and gives him $500 to allow the pet food which has this chemical into the US. The person that gave the money is trying to get the customs officer to do something he isn't supposed to do, in effect, violate his job duties. This is a bribe.

A gift is given to you with kindness to make you smile...Bribery has so many strings attached that you should never want to get tangled up in them. The thing that we can't do anything about is the strings,we are unable to see them--at first..

A gift is given without concession, a bribe isn't.
Usually a gift is given as a celebration of something, also.

A gift is something you give because you want to show someone your affection or just want to thank someone. A bribe is something that you try to give to someone to do something if they don't want to like if you tell them please go get me that I will give you 20 dollars that's bribing. Hope this answers your question!
