I'm seeing those a lot lately, and it makes me mad that we're now lumping elderly people into the same category as toddlers. Just because they aren't as functional as they used to be, does that give us the right to take away what little dignity they have left?
Shameful, I tell you.........

I agree. Senior activity center would sound better. Since most people want (or have) to get by on two incomes the family can't take care of their elders like they once could. The name solution would be the easiest to fix. Lets start with it, and then go to the larger issue.

It is also what the old folks make of it themselves. Most of them couldnt care less if it was called : daily dose of joy... but I have seen centres who have tackled this. In holland at least. The elderly themselves made their environment like a huge green garden-restaurant and ever since then they have no lack of talkative people around them... Hope their initiative will inspire others to do the same :)

i totally agree with you.
i always hated it that my great grandmother was in a nursing home and they refered to it as "adult care"...
