It's a damn shame! I'm a Kimi fan. And I really believed in his racing skills and champion-potential. I really believed he just needed a reliable car. I was so excited when he signed with Ferrari, i thought a whole new glorious era had begun. I could already smell the spray of bubbly...
Now after a mediocre and disappointing start with the top team, I'm begining to think he's just not a team player..
A hellava good driver, but rumours are he doesn't work well with the team. Im hoping he's just settling still and that he'll be on track soon - but he's taking a long time.
Ferrari's the kinda team that cuts their losses short. If Kimi doesnt shape up, they'll tell him he's free to talk with other teams.
I'm impressed with Hamilton though.

Overall, I am a fan of Kimi's driving and think he may be the best driver on the grid... at least in terms of pure driving talent. His shortcomings in terms of fitness and commitment to win, and working with the team to provide the best chance of winning are well known. His tenure at Ferrari is just started though, and the recent weeks may be a wake up call, or simply a signal of what's to come.
It's been rumored that he has had problems adapting to the new Bridgestone tires. And it is possible that he is facing issues in adapting his driving style to the new tires (as well as adapting to a team and car which still carries much of the Schumacher style... which would be a setup that is not too similar to what he would naturally choose).
But, to go aside and think that after a few races Ferrari would drop him? If you go ahead and assume that they are completely disappointed and would actually consider this, then you have to ask, who is it out there that they consider as better? Kimi is under contract and will be drawing the money regardless of his driving or Ferrari sidelining him. And should they choose the later, who would they bring in to replace him that will do better?
Even if you accept that there is no further upside to Raikkonen, the fact is that he would still represent one of the better options at the moment. I suspect that the Ferrari braintrust will spend a good deal of time in the coming weeks talking to him in harsh tones and trying to impress the areas he needs to improve. If that doesn't work, I would expect Ferrari to then press very hard to further invovle Michael Schumacher in the current car's development (as the main objector to this is rumored to be Kimi)... but simply dropping him would not really be an option as I see it.

I think that Felipe Massa has shown this season that he doesnt need a Schumacher to lead the team that hes capable in his own right to do it. When Kimi was brought in the hype was that ferrari was just going to dominate like the Schumacher days but Kimi isnt a team guy and isnt that good of driver. Either bring back Schumacher or give Massa 1st driver and give him a team mate whos worthy.

I don't think Ferrari would drop him....it would be a loss of face that I dont think fits into the Ferrari team. Whether he will still be there next year however remains to be seen as he is being kicked all over the park by Felippe...fair do's Peter Sauber had an eye for young drivers didn't he!

I think he would not finish it. It would be best for Ferrari to bring Michael back from retirement to race once again. I believe he still has what it takes to become World Champion again.

Kimi is a notorious party animal, which has been known for some time. If Ferrari doesn't like it, they should have put a no-booze clause in his contract. He's a talent, but he needs more focus.

ferarri gave him a car that was better than Schumi's, and the one thing kimi didn't have with the last couple teams that he raced with was a good car, he will definitely stay with ferarri. the real question is whether they will allow him to stay unpredictable, the only way to drive the ferarri is if he learns strategy and how to drive an effective racing line.

I really wouldn't be surprised if he didn't go the way of Montoya.... He really has failed to deliver thus far in his career. You can only blame your car so much.. And lets face it, he's never driven for cr@p teams
