Cotton as much as possible, but style depends on the outfit I'm wearing over them. Pantie lines are just gross! But briefs (aka 'granny panties') are much more comfortable at night when you're sleeping, in my opinion.

absolutely unfashionable-feel good- non restricting- sit all day- kind of panties, and yes, clean of course... besides in these normal ones I look normal, in a thong I would feel like an elephant in bikini... :(
