it may or may not be miscarriage. i bled dark blood at 5 weeks and had a scan that day to be told my babys heartbeat - although so so so tiny - was definately visible and that i was not miscarrying. the explanation they gave for the blood was old blood left over in my cervix either from implantation or a previous period and my body was only evacuating it now. they also said that during pregnancy the cervix is highly vascular and sometimes the tiny little blood vessels rupture and bleed which eventually repair themselves and can be caused by sex, straining when doing the toilet etc.
either way, go to the dr asap.

Hi Shannon,
Honey, it does not sound good. From the tone of your question I can tell that it is more than just a tiny bit of spotting. If that was all it was I would be more hopeful. It does sound to me like you are probably miscarrying.
Generally speaking if you call your doctor they will tell you to take care of yourself at home. This is not always the best advice and in my opinion you should be seen.
Have you had an examination to make sure that all was as it should be? Were they sure that the baby was developing in the uterus? I always worry about an ectopic pregnancy tho in that case you would normally have severe pain on one side or the other. Still, I recently had an experience with a young woman that has made me especially suspicious in this sort of a situation.
If your doctor does not want to see you I would go to the ER. I know that financial matters can be a concern but in this case I really think that it is necessary. Make sure that everything is normal. Not that a miscarriage is normal but you want to make sure that nothing else is going on.
It is my opinion that most miscarriages should be followed by a D&C although as early as you are this may not be necessary. The reason I mention a D&C is because it rules out the chance of an ectopic pregnancy and it also gives clues as to what may have caused the miscarriage.
Use your own judgement honey, I know this is an emotional time for you. I am so sorry that this is happening to you and I will be praying that it is not a miscarriage after all.
Love and Blessings

This early in pregnancy you wouldn't necessarily have a lot of pain, a miscarriage would essentially mimic a heavy period.
Exactly how much are you bleeding? Is it as much as a period, as in, you're having to change pads frequently? Sometimes when you're pregnant and have heavier spotting it is easy to overreact and assume you are bleeding too much and that it must mean you're miscarrying.
You should call your doctor this morning and let them know what's happening. Unless you are bleeding bright red blood and saturating pads til they are dripping wet there is no need to be running to the emergency room or anything.
I'm very sorry, but IF you are miscarrying, there is really nothing that can be done to stop it. When it happens this early it usually means there were issues with the baby's development and it just wasn't meant to survive. And one miscarriage doesn't mean you will have problems next time. . . many women have early miscarriages and go on to have happy and healthy pregnancies later on.
Best wishes to you that everything works out for the best.

I am sorry for this difficult moment you are going through.
I have had two miscarriages and this is how they started. The clots and cramps came later. However, that doesn't mean that all bleeding in pregnancy is a sign of miscarriage. What you do need to do is see a doctor right away to confirm what is going on.
Some possibilities:
-- Implantation bleeding. It happens around this time and is when the egg attaches to the uterine wall causing bleeding in some women but not all.
-- Breakthrough bleeding. My sister-in-law bled this way through her entire pregnancy and while it was scary, she gave birth to a healthy little girl.
Unfortunately at this stage if a miscarriage is happening, there is nothing to do to save the pregnancy (it is not viable due to a number of factors) but it should not affect your ability to have another baby in the future.
Please see a doctor and good luck to you.

Small amounts of bleeding during pregnancy can be normal but if it is a significant amount, you could be miscarrying. You are still at a very early stage of pregnancy where miscarriage is very likely. You should contact your doctor immediately or go to the emergency room if you are sure you were pregnant and now you are bleeding.

Some women have break though bleeding, which is why a lot of women think they just have a late period, when they are in fact pregnant. However it could be an early miscarriage also. I had bleeding at 7 weeks with my third child, and he was born full term. And I lost a baby after him at nine weeks, with similar bleeding. If in doubt, please see your health care professional. they are the only ones who can give you a definitive answer.

I hate to ask, but you did get a positive test, right? Assuming you did, sounds like it hon...The clots will come, more than likely, but you are still pretty early, so I dont know what it will do. When I had mine, I was 8weeks, and there were alot of clots! Praying for you honey! If you feel the need, go to the ER and get checked..They will probably only be able to see the sac, as early as this is...

You have got to see the surgeon. It seems like your constructive being pregnant scan used to be because of residual hormones from the miscarriage. It can take as much as 2 months for the hormones to return to natural. The document must be trying out your blood stages to ensure that they're going down thoroughly and that the whole thing used to be expelled for the duration of your miscarriage. If your frame holds onto any of it, you would be at danger for illness or different issues. You are meant to wait a minimum of two months earlier than attempting once more. Your frame demands a holiday. Go to the document and feature a whole examination performed. They will help you recognise whilst it's adequate to check out once more.
