Brown spots left by dog urine is caused by urea, which is high in ammonia. Ammonia itself is a fertilizer. However in the case of my dog, she does not drink enough water and therefore her urine is very concentrated urea and not dilute. Therefore your dog when they pee, is over fertilizing those spots and "burning" your grass....one way to rectify that problem is when your dog does their business, pour a cup of water on it to dilute it yourself...that seems to work....

They now sell products that go into the dogs food to neutralize the chemicals that kill the grass. Larger pet stores have them.

Litter train your dog. Or go to your vet to see if there is something wrong with your dog. Usually, their urine doesn't hurt the lawn.

there are salts in urine. that's what affects the grass. sprinkle gypsum over the areas to counteract the salts, then water..

You know you should potty train them to go in the toilet . Im really not joking. I have doen that with my dogs.
