I've read the book and watched the movie this weekend. I am impressed. It's a wonderful theory that we all manifest what we ask the universe for. I'd just like to hear a few personal experiences.....

Yes, I was questioning at first...but I have found recent events that have happened to me beyond reproach. *thinking* I guess it all has to do with the person. *nodd* I believe in it.

I was into Dr. Wayne Dyer, his gig was the "power of intention". Which is the same as the "Secret", which is the same thing as Napeleon Hill's "Think and Grow Rich."

All this comes from an idea called "New Thought." You can search on Yahoo to find out more about it.

I have tried it for a year and a half. Bottom Line-It doesnt work.

And don't let anyone tell you "Oh you just failed because you didn't believe enough" or "Maybe you wanted the wrong thing." That's a total cop out. If the theory of "the laws of attraction" were real, it would work.

Bottom line is that without a Positive Mental Attitude, nothing good will happen, but it isn't enough. You will need to try, you will need to accept that you might fail a time or two. You may get hurt. So what? Keep trying.

Besides why would you want to believe in this "magical power" is going to with-hold good things from people who don't believe in it?

The great news is that you don't need any magic. Keep your PMA, but keep working. Take a step every day toward your dreams. You have everything you need, right now, to be happy.

I'ts not just 'what we ask for' but what we internally truly believe we deserve. It's the power of the energy field you generate about yourself, surrounding yourself with the right energy. A person with a good overall outlook draws more positive energy to them than a person with an overall negative outlook.

If you enjoyed "the secret" I also encourage you to read The Celestine Prophesy (And it's sequels) which delves into this same idea.

Lastly, if you truly want more on this subject, read a book by John Holmes (written in the 1920's believe it or not) called "The Science of MIND". The SOM has spawned an entire religion known as "Religious Science" which continues this thought. There are churches and centers in every major city in the US.

I try to stay away from the SELF HELP kinds of books. I just feel that if any of these authors really cared they would offer the book for free and not charge you.

I agree with another poster, total cop out.

There are many people who would laugh at the possibility of changing their destinies. This is due to the fact that it believes that no one gets more that what is put in his destiny.
