Trade Howie Kendrick for Chuck James when you already have Ian Kinsler at 2B and one of your starters (Cliff Lee) is struggling?

When Kendrick's back to full speed, he'll be great insurance for Kinsler, who hasn't been the most consistant... so keep him.

Very surprised you're still holding onto Lee... is your league too deep to be able to grab an emerging free agent starter? Germano? Mitre? Guthrie?

Kendrick's too valuable (and at a hard to fill 2B position) to give up for James... I'd check for free agents first.

Just my two cents,

No. Howie's gonna get you a great average and decent other stats. He's a nice fill-in for Kinsler should something happen and he's elligable at other positions, so you can play both.

Chuck James is not a solid option to improve your staff. He's basically the same pitcher as Cliff Lee, with less experience.

I love both Kendrick and Kinsler and believe they will both have a good season. Not knowing what other options you have I would suggest unloading Lee but not for James who gives up a lot of BB's and has a high WHIP. You should be able to get a better pitcher than James if you are willing to give up Kendrick and Lee, good luck.

I wouldn't make this move. If you want someone of James' caliber, there's a decent chance that there's a FA that's almost as good (depending on the league style, and all). If you want to trade Kendrick, I'd do it later, when he's playing, and you can get some real value for him.

Examples of guys you could pick up are Sergio Mitre, Justin Germano, Chad Gaudin, or others, if available.

I would think that Jmaes and Lee are very similar. If you need depth at middle infield you may want to consider this trade.
