The president decides what our foreign policy will be the Secretary of State represents us in foreign matters. The Secretary of State is a very important position. She not only advises the president (which, in itself is very important) but she often has close up and personal discussions on world moving subjects with top leaders of the world.

She knows what the president wishes to achieve and is entrusted to make it happen.
