Puerto Rico? Ireland? Israel? Quebec?

Quebec because we have a lot of citizens that are canadian born and a lot of celebrities that are canadian born....plus the land is geographically connected to the US...at least thats my guess on which would be better

Pert Rico! Most people have been thinking that for years anyway. Quebec is part of Canada! Maybe even (Ouch) Mexico.They there would be no trouble with illegals from Mexico right? The fall back would be there would be no escaping America would become a country of two languages!

Split California.
But we should also consider merging some of those tiny states in the North East.
There is a guy (www.varifrank.com) who suggested we offer statehood to England.
Geographically, they are as far away from Washington, D.C. as Hawaii (about 7 hours by air). They can be split up into four nice states. They speak English and have the same customs. They'd just need to get rid of that whole "queen" thing....
Mexico is very appealing. It would have to be split into several states too.
Cuba is a good suggestion.
On the other hand, we still haven't gotten the Virgin Islands or Puerto Rico to crap or get off the pot yet, so who knows...

It was supposed to be Puerto Rico, and was voted down, in the 1990's. I don't know if Puerto Rico will ever become a major acknowledged state.

If we had to have a 51st state, I would choose Israel over them all. They're suvivors and successful. Look at what they've built in just 60 years.

Puerto Rico, American Virgin Islands, Guam would all be contenders because the citizens of all three already have American Citizenship.
