Well, I for one am not happy with our government, mainly our judicial system I feel its so prejudicual money buys good justice. And politics is getting so dishonest our taxes have become an open expense account for those in office, private jets for all the senators, vacations, dinners, hotels, land deals, and then when there confronted they know nothing BS The governor of Illinois was sentenced to years in prison for defrauding the state of millions of money he's out on bail til his appeal for 2 years this has been going on you or I would be in jail now. And now when politicians retire they want there children to take there office at least in Chicago. All crooked But no kind of government I don't know maybe a Good honest police Department for the citizens a nd all the crooked politicians that might work, there promises are all lies anyway!

If you can name one half decent MP then you can answer your own question, if your struggling, which you probably will be, just look at a picture of that jobsworth Peter Hain. All governments created, from the Ancient Athenians to the Nationalist Socialism Party, have had their share of flaws (and obviously some more than others). We do need a government, anarchy would bring every nation down as it would simply be "dog eat dog". The trick is being brave enough to sever ties with main stream parties, voting simply because that's how your parents have always voted or it's what's expected of you. The reason an "average Joe" can't run is due to the colossal fiances it needs. Get a wealthy backer though (steer clear of unions) and you have a shout, slim one but still you have one, beauty of democracy

A "Government" as we know it? No. Government is a self centered body of control frieks: all they want is to control you.
Anarchy would reign? No. Don't you leave your neighbourg in peace? We don't want war. And when two people have a raw or a dispute, there will be friends to calm them down.
There would be no school? Better none than these who teach us to fear and respect our "Governers", and listen to the old wise grand's of our villages.
There would be no roads? The path we take everyday would be the roads. A businessman will offer the village to do the job, and we would all collect to pay for it. No commission to the "Government", no "brown envelopes".
The country(ies) would organise ITSELF, by all individuals, as a business. As such, it would have to be efficient and profitable (not subsided!). It would be free enterprise and freedom of choice. There would be no borders, no "passports" (other means of control).
Should we be "attacked": we would be our own army (why did we had the resitance during the war?)
There would be no laws? There would be, but certainly not stupid laws voted by all do-gooders laying around.
One simple law is sufficient: "No individual or group of individuals is allowed to impose its will by force or otherwise upon another individual or group of individuals".
Look at governments throughout history. NONE was successful and lasted forever. Most of them were to conquer, impose and rule.
Today's systems are all "dictatures in disguise".

i've had arguments with my husband about this.
he says without a government nothing would get done, anarchy would reign & the Criminals would inevitably run the country.
& i say what the hell, we already have criminals running the country disguised as MPs!
Better the Devil you know?
i agree with a comment above, they all start out with good intentions, then before you know it greed comes along & nobody gets treated fairly any more.
it's all about me me & me again, they get big heads & forget all about the little guy, we're just tax-payers lead by the nose & treated like mushrooms.
reading the Links below, when B'Liar steps down, he'll be leaving the UK in a worse state than when he came to Power!
& we can't do a ruddy thing about it, either.

sorry i forgot to add this one, why the Far East know more than we do about it, not a clue?

I admire your thoughtfulness. I strongly recommend you read about the founding fathers of America as they toiled to:

A) decide to break with England and
B) as they debated the Constitution

You will find many of the answers you seek. I strongly recommend the musical play/movie 1776. It is a good brief synopsis.

No! Look what we have achieved in this country after hundreds of years of Government, we're still arguing about the causes of crime and how to reduce the massive amount of offending! Hello! Why wasn't this problem solved years ago?

Not sure. Other forms of society had existed without large corporate like governments. Native Indians had tribal councils. Many others had 'elders' or 'chiefs'.
Britain already existed without one for hundreds of years when they were just under a monarchy.

i think every country needs some sort of government, just to keep people in line and stopping criminals from doing more crime, etc.
the government should just be there to make laws and whatever else they have to do, but keep out of people's lives. so overall in theory, a minimalist government would work

I think it'd be great if we didn't have a government. There'd be heaps less corruption. But unfortunatly you'll still get idiots who need a law system in place to behave. Without a government there'd be no laws or benefits system, so people would end up murdered or on the streets.
