I usually say it when I've given up trying to suggest ideas to someone who won't take any of my suggestions, but it can have other meanings. Sometimes it means "whatever works, I'll be content with whatever you decide"

It does. I'm the master of the "Whatever" found in the Audibles section of Y Messenger...
But I also use it to mean "whatever you would like to do is fine with me".

Correction for the guy above: Como= I consume (to not consume)..yo como (I consume) Como= How..Como estas (how are you) even with the shown fact that it does not mean "like". Now to respond to your question, I see no benefit, it in basic terms confuses maximum who prefer to study it. I mean, how the hell do you clarify to a pupil why an user-friendly be conscious like "como" has 2 thoroughly distinctive meanings to it?
