LOL! Those Yankees stink. What was so funny is how they didn't get Matsuoka, so they just had to buy a Japanese Pitcher...and wound up with a Kei Igawa, now in the minors.

When the Yankees learn that if the right free agent isn't available (too long of a contract or $$$), simply throwing money at A free agent won't work! Pavano, Wright...the list goes on and on.

Of course, the Yankees have outscored their opponents by 20 runs, so they'll win about 85 games this year, but will be out of the playoffs.

Clemens will be 10-8, hardly a savior or worth what the Yankees paid.

they have overpayed since i was born and at 1st it worked out early 2000s but now they r paying for what? they have players who had 1 good year and now there on the yankees lets see there outfielders oh and there piching sucks so bad they r gunna have to spend another 100 million to fix it which wont happen this year if they think that this old guy is gunna turn this team around they better be ready for a huge suprise wont happen they might finish 2nd but wont make playoffs and the manager might get fired but for what? cause his pitchers r getting hurt? cause the only one on the team that knows how to hit is alex and jeter? hes one of the greatest manegers in baseball hes not the problem the players r what they need to do is spend that big money on good players "pitchers who can pitch" ones who have 15 plus wins a year

If you have ever gone to a horse race would you have any way of knowing if you picked the right horse when he leaves the starting gate. Baseball is like every other sport, a good start helps but the race is not necessarily over if you have a bad start. I believe I can suggest this to you because I am not a Yankee fan, don't count them out just yet. As far as the cost of the payroll, the team is worth what steinbrenner is willing to pay and not what you and I believe they are worth.

No way. Every player on the New York Yankees is worth every dollar.

Signed,

Carl Parvano & Roger Clemens

Those numbers are not even updated either. The Yankees are up to $215 million after they signed Clemens.
This is what happens when a team has no chemistry at all.

At this point every team has overpaid. The only team possibly that would feel they did not overpay is the team that
wins the World Series.
