What do you think of this movie, WITHOUT comparing it to the first two Pirates of the Carribean movies (i.e. Curse of the Black Pearl and Dead Man's Chest)?? Positive and negative remarks accepted.

umm ... without comparing it to the first two ....
it was awesome. I totally totally loved it. It is the best movie I've seen since - well, a certain movie released in 2003 starring Johnny Depp, Geoffry Rush, Orlando Bloom and Kiera Knightly that you don't want any comparisons to ;O)
I laughed, cried, was on the edge of my seat - I even got goosebumps when all the pirate ships were raising their flags and that awesome music was pumping through the theater - it was so good!
Johnny Depp was once again at the top of his game, if he doesn't get an Oscar for playing Jack this time around I'm going to be really mad, Geoffry Rush is awesome - I love Barbossa, he's just an awesome pirate, even Orlando Bloom and Kiera Knightly did much better acting in this movie -

Hmm.. it's difficult to say really. I think so many people were dissappointed with Spidey3 (except me, I though it was great), that Pirates may end up making more. But let's not forget about Shrek; it currently is the 2nd grossing movie of all time in America (Titanic holds #1 spot). I'm a huge Pirates fan, so I plan on seeing it at least twice within the opening weekend..

I completely adored it!! I have actually seen it 5 times and everytime I still jump when it gets surprising, I still laugh, and yes, I still cry when Will is sent to be captian! I thought the plot was great! They had just enough war scenes and love scenes to make it my kind of movie! I am sooo happy they are making another one! I will be in the best seats at midnight or whenever for that one too!! I guess it also helped ending with Will and Elizabeth having a son and because Will/Orlando was soooooo freakin HOTT!! Either way~ I LOVED IT!!

If you sit through 7 minutes of credits you will see that Will & Elizabeth are reunited after 10 yrs and that they have a son. Without comparing it to the other ones, it was ok, not the best, but it was action packed. I didn't like the wedding scene, I thought it was stupid.

too long and too overblown. Just when I though it was about to end, another scene would start. Keith Richards and Keira Knightly were the best things in it - only because of the novelty and because Keira is quite beautiful - otherwise it would have been unwatchable. Jerry Bruckheimer should stick to TV. It was a waste of money, time and celluloid.

it was so awesome way better than sm 3, the ending kinda dragged, i understood the plot very clearly, it had it's moments, although at the end it still left me with a few questions like what happened to tia dalma, will jack go after the black pearl or to the fountain of youth, what is going to happen to will and elizabeth, what is going to happen to their child, what about the east india trading company.... and ya but i really liked it hopefully they make one last movie

I thought it was a bit "extra" the fight scene lasted almost 1 hour, but it was good though. I laughed at the bit when the dude started speaking in a really high pitched voice. I thought that was hilarious. Overall, I would rate it 4 stars

Ahh pretty good but there were a few big plot holes that left me scrathing my head. Also the ending was something I figured out towards the beginning of the movie. Good overall though.

I loved it. Although I wasn't real pleased with the outcome. However the last 3 minutes after the credits rolled put the whole show together with closure for me, so that if they don't make another one I'm ok. But I want another one.

it started out good, the plot just kept getting better and better, and then the war. that was amazing! but at the very end after the credits WOW!! now they won't make a fourth movie cause of the ending
