I say that a dead and dying person loves this dead and dying world. As for me, I am trying to keep my focus on Heaven and God and he precious Son Jesus. I have hope and faith, and that helps keep me going in this poverish society. Christians do you agree? I would rather listen to a praise and worship CD, and the world would rather get drunk and be merry.for there is no tomorrow. I would rather spend time with God, and the world lives for themselfs. No wonder this world is in such a mess.

Feed Love and Wait with Patience,

May be that was the theme ran by Jesus.

In today's context, perhaps the best policy may be to start Veganism to start feeding love

I used to feel that this world had nothing to offer when I was severely depressed. As a Christian, I recognize some of my own inclinations in your statement.
Don't let yourself become too downtrodden. I like RedQueen's suggestion about doing some positive work for needy people...sometimes, it can be really uplifiting to help others out, and see other human beings giving each other a hand. There is a lot of cruelty and oppression in this world, but there is a tremendous amount of kindness as well. I find that most people I encounter are good, but a few evil people with power can wreak massive amounts of havoc.
Enjoy your worship cd's, and do spend time with God. If these things make you feel better about yourself, then enjoy them! But don't confine yourself to an inner conversation. Seek out new things, and embrace the parts of the world that you love. Even spend time with people whose views you disagree with. Shatter the limitations of your comfort zone. Believe in God, but find a way to balance that devotion with a belief in the beauty and redeeming qualities of human beings and the world. After all, this world, and the people who occupy it, are both God's great creations, and there is a lot to marvel at within both.

Life can be hard sometimes and this world looks like it has nothing to offer. People can be so shallow and the world seems intent on blowing itself up.

But there is so much light in the Bible. As others have suggested when we look at others and their plights we can step in and help them and things will look better.

Cheers, head up my lady. Good things come to those that expect them. Heaven will come on time. In the meantime bring a little of heaven to earth

This world has plenty to offer as long as people like yourself dont give up and keep fighting the good fight
If we lie down to all the evil in the world then satan wins.
Just keep your light shining and you'll be surprised how many people it actually affects in a positive way.
You are not alone and never will be with Jesus by your side.

Faith is important, but the Bible warns us about the time we live in. And so we must continue in faith doing as God leads us. Sometimes it is to work with those without Jesus and other times it is to worship the Lord through song, reading of His word and so forth. Life with God is never boring when you step in out in faith to see how God can and will use you to minister to people.

Here is something to consider.

Matthew 26:11
The poor you will always have with you, but you will not always have me.

Romans 12:16
[Be] of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits.

I just fed a homeless man on Sunday with the small amount of money I had. My progressive Bible study is leading me to see how blind I've been in making excuses for "friends" who love money, not God. I was in a religion that claimed to be "the truth." I didn't see it very often - how godless I was. I did pray but I lost my faith often expecting to see God's blessing on the organisation. I thought it was selfish to expect it in my own life.

There are always the poor to feed. It makes a difference.

Christians are not supposed to be so "other worldly". You have been misled. According to your own dogma: "God so loved the world...." If your God loves the world who are you to second guess him. But, most of the Christians I see on this board don't even have a firm grasp of the tenants of their own faith. They just have pastiches of things they put together into a rigid personal Umwelt

I am optimistic that continually more people will object to allowing the world to suffer, and we can reverse our self-destructive tendencies.

Edit: Peter O (below), pastiches of an umwelt, huh? That was a brilliant comment after I looked-up those words! Poignant description.

If you are that downtrodden, perhaps you should volunteer at a homeless shelter, read to your elders in a nursing home, teach an illiterate to read, help a small child to learn, walk a dog for a busy neighbor, and say "Hello" to all that you meet. You'll have a better outlook in no time once you learn to look beyond yourself.
