Yes. I think their is a high suicide rate amongst people with chronic back pain. It goes untreated because physicians are ignorant about pain control.
Not all doctors are alike, some are just stupid. I sat in the emergency room one nite with a broken foot and the guy next to me was begging for pain medicine and all they would give him was Ibuprophen. He had back pain and they treated him like ****. He was about 70 yrs old. I could not believe it. No compassion what so ever.
I nurse, but not in that hospital. I just happened to be there when I broke my foot.
