Actually, at the age of `12 he was found in the temple talking with the elders. Sharing thoughts, beliefs etc.
I also believe that he grew up fairly normal and took the trade of his father as a carpenter.
I think that you need to read a little more.
Even then, history does not record every moment of a persons life.

Theres a passage somewhere in the gospels where it says something like "He grew in knowledge and learned" or something or other when he came out of the temple. The gospels nowhere mention that Jesus is God. People get this idea from Johns gospel which talks about the word being God and then becoming flesh, this well known passage is also called "The Logos" and has nothing to do with Jesus but christians have twisted the context to suit themselves

Jesus was merely awaiting the day to officially begin his redemptive mission, which was based on the foreknowledge of God, and heaven's own exquisite timing.

In order to stay "below the radar" and keep the forces of evil totally in the dark until his appointed time, Jesus stayed in Nazareth, the one place that the scriptures totally ignored, and the one place Satan and his minions would never think to look for him:

Joh 1:44 Now Philip was of Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter.
Joh 1:45 Philip findeth Nathanael and saith to him: We have found him of whom Moses, in the law and the prophets did write, Jesus the son of Joseph of Nazareth.
Joh 1:46 And Nathanael said to him: Can any thing of good come from Nazareth? Philip saith to him: Come and see.

When his time arrived, Jesus rapidly and completely fulfilled all that was written about him in the Law, the Psalms, and the Prophets, according to the will of his Father in heaven.

It is more than enough.

Jesus spent his time working with his father and spent night times going through the scrolls and learning the Holy Books which we call the Old Testemant of the Bible.

He was very knowlegable at the age of 12 as he stayed for a number of days with the scribes and pharasses dicussing the Law and the prophets. His family actually lost him for a while. When they found him he said he was in his Father's house which he referred to as the temple.

It is customary that a jew cannot become a Rabbi to age 30 and this is probably the reason why he took so long to start his minsitry so that he would be accpeted as one.

The people that he taught from age 30 marveled at his wisdom and said that he taught with "Much authority"

He was obedient to His parents. His mother and father taught Him many things especially with their example. He must have learned to develop his virtues from Mary and Joseph. Then He did everything well. He was a carpenter like his father. He grew in wisdom and grace and in favor of God and men. At twelve years old, He also was found in the temple speaking to the teachers or elders there. They found Him and then he obeyed His parents and was subject to them. I don't know what else He learned from His parents but they were special people. For example Joseph is known as the "terror of demons" so maybe He learned how to cast out the demons from Joseph but this is not in the bible. Also, Mary is the queen of angels so maybe she taught Him some tips as to how to deal with angels too. But this is also just a guess. It is not written in the bible. She is also queen of heaven and earth so maybe she was helping Him get ready for His public ministry as Joseph was too.

Was Jesus born 4064 after Adam, was he age 2 years at Matt.2:11,13,16; and taken into Egypt, 4066 after Adam was created in day six?
Jesus was in the temple in Judah/Jerusalem at age 12, for education.
By age 17, he would have been in education and paying his way, by age 30 he had his own dwelling.
Did Rome take over Judah year 4004 after Adam was created in day six?
Did Jesus die in the year 33, at the age of 35 years old?
Did some one record history correct for us to go by now at 2007 CE?

While the story of Jesus' birth, death and resurrection is known by everyone, no one knows what he did between the ages of 12 and 30. The Bible is silent about this period in his life and after the mention of Jesus as a 12 year old, discussing the Hebrew Bible with the rabbis, he surfaces at the age of 30, full of divinity and wisdom. The History Channel recently showed a documentary titled, The Lost Years of Jesus which suggests that Jesus could have been in India or England or Qumran or leading a revolution against the Romans in the missing years.

The Jesus in India theory comes from author Holger Kersten who wrote a book about the same. Though without proof the idea comes from the observation that the teachings of Jesus are similar to Buddha who lived in India, 500 years before Jesus. Since there was a trade route to India from the Roman empire which passed through Palestine, it would have been possible for Jesus to travel to India, learn Buddhism and go back to Palestine.

Glastonbury in England has a legend connected to Joseph of Arimathea and according to one tradition, Joseph was Jesus' uncle and established the first church in England. Joseph, involved in tin trade lived in the tin mine areas of England and it is believed that Jesus came along with him. According to the legends, after the death of Jesus, the Holy Grail (the cup and not the Dan Brown version) was buried in Glastonbury by Joseph.

Another theory is that simplicity of life and the concept of baptism all came to Jesus while he and John the Baptist lived with the Essenes. These Essenes later moved to Qumran due to the fear of Romans, but they believed that they would be lead by a leader called Messiha. While Jesus is portrayed as a peaceful man, there is one instance in the Bible where he says, "I come not to bring peace, but to bring a sword". Also when Jesus was arrested, one of his disciples took his sword and stuck down a slave of the head priest. The theory suggested is that Jesus was a revolutionary fighting the Romans and his revolutionary activities were left out from the Bible since it would be difficult to circulate such a Bible in Roman Times.

The documentary, though telecast by the History Channel, is very speculative. The Jesus in India theory is not taken seriously by most people and the Jesus in England theory is also as the story says, "legend". It is not even sure if there was a person called Joseph of Arimathea for so far no one has been able to find this place called Arimathea.

The documentary also mentions that what we know about Jesus is pure speculation and comes not from historical documents, but from the Gospels. Though there were many historians who were alive at that time who wrote about events in Palestine, it is surprising that the no one mentioned about this person.

Considering that the Gospels, both the canonical and the heretic like the Gospel of Judas were written with the aim of glorifying Jesus, the bias in it would not be, let us say, minuscule. The Gospels were not first hand accounts, but oral tradition written down much later. From the Gospels it cannot be decided what is historical and what is not, for the authors of Gospels were evangelists, not historians. The documentary which establishes the lack of historical evidence for Jesus then goes on suggesting the above theories based on legends and gospels, which was kind of ironic.

Jesus lived and developed...

Luke 2: 52
52 And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.

The powers Jesus was born with are IMO:
(1) Ability to recognise and impliment truth very quickly - ie without sin.
(2) Ability to give up his own life and to resurrect himself.

Luke 2: 40
40 And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, filled with wisdom: and the grace of God was upon him.

I believe that Jesus' special powers, to heal, to walk on water, etc, were a combination of his priesthood authority, which he delegated to his apostles, and also his faith. Those who have also received his priesthood authority, and who keep the commandments and exercise similiar faith, will have the same abilities.

12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

(Also see verses 15 and 16).

As a christian I don't believe Jesus was like 'superman'. I believe He came as fully God and fully human. In order to show us the way to heaven. He didn't come to earth to show off, He created the earth. He came to earth to reveal to us His true character of love, and to redeem us. I believe in the first 30 years of His, He prepared for His great mission and showed us how to live. He comforted the suffering and was a encouragement to all!

He prepared for his public ministry.

We are not told what he was doing or did. It, therefore, is not important to the record of salvation.

The Bible is a book of spiritual history. It is our relationship with God which is documented. The New Testament records the arrival of the Messiah. What he did prior to the beginning of his ministry is really of no consequence. We may feel like it would be nice to know, but it's not necessary.
