Probably a notification of the universal truth. Black is the color of death. Bible is a tragedy as far as the human master Jesus was concerned. (Also it was a tragedy for the roman empire!) So Romans may have created the bible with black cover.

But when you open it's all profound knowledge. It's all white. See the cover, the black cover covers the white. Black and white are opposites. But they complement each other. Bible's cover and the contents complement each other :)

It's not. I have a Bible with a black leather cover and gold engraving, but I also have a light blue student bible and a green KJV, and a number of other ones. Just go to a bookstore...many different Bibles with many different covers. I think black is regarded as an all around elegant color. It's never tacky.

That's not the case. The Bible comes in all colors. I have red, green, white, and black.

That's not always true. I own 4 bibles. One cover is black, one brown, one tan and one green.

They're not. In fact, Gideon's international colour-code their bible covers (i.e. books given at school ceremonies have red covers, military ceromonies white, etc.).

They are not all black.

Perhaps most of them are black with white pages as the subject is black and white. If you choose Jesus you dwell eternally in white in his glory, if you don't choose Jesus then you dwell in darkness and won't see the light in eternity.

I have a white one, a burgundy one, a blue one, and a teal one. What do you mean they're always black?
