Love Waltzing Matilda for a rousing sing-a-long but prefer Advance Australia Fair as a national anthem. Don't fancy being known as a nation of sheep stealing, wandering tramps.

This for most Australians is a fairly emotive subject and the debate has been going on for some time. If memory serves correct Advance Australia Fair was selected by the public after a referendum, which had three song available.
Advance, Walsing Matilda and God Bless Australia which was to the tune of Walsing Matilda, this all occured back in the seventies.

At that time Advance was over welmingly selected, mainly due to a lot of media pointing out that the tune for Walsing Matilda is actually a German Folk Song, even though the actual words were written by A.B "Banjo" Pattison. Of cause in only stating from memory I was very young when all of this happened.

Personally I love my country and like any song that celebrates who we are and what we stand for and i still get goose bumps when I here any of these. But given the choice the best one you didn't list "I still call Australia Home"

well each is a representation of my home, but waltzing matilda hands down, i love that song, i mean i grew up with my pop singing it to me while i was going to sleep. i also think waltzing matilda is a better representation of australia - especially when ur at the footy and thousands of people are singing in sync with each other

I can't believe you didn't include that land from downunder song lol, I hate that song but I found a remix by americans (wtf?) but it's still good, but if I had to choose between Australian Fair and Waltzing Matilda I'd go with Waltzing Matilda
