Perhaps your question would be more proper if you asked how many PEOPLE contributed to or manipulated the Bible.

Wait...what?
Christians believe in both the Old Testament AND the New Testament, or at least we're supposed to. The Old Testament is still valid, even if some of the laws in it aren't.
We believe in the New Testament because it was written by the very first Christians. They converted from traditional Judaism to Christianity.
I'm afraid your question isn't very clear.

Both the Old and New Testaments are contained within the Holy Bible. Christians believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. The New Testament is the account of Jesus' birth, life, resurrection, and the subsequent dawn of the Christian movement. That is why Christians believe in it .

There were no real real authors of of the Bible .The accounts written in the Bible were written centuries after the events occurred.Oral tradition existed before the written scriptures. The Bible was sanctioned by Rome and therefore accepted as the "holy Bible". The cross of Christ was preceded by the sword of Rome.Without the acceptance of Rome Christianity would have been a sect of Judaism. As for me I would like oral tradition in place of written doctrine.

I believe Moses wrote a lot of the old testament, plus some of the prophets who prophesied of the birth of Christ. The New testament was written by Jewish apostles except Luke who was a greek, who were witnesses to Christ Jesus. Paul was also Jewish but was converted when he met the risen Christ on the road to Damascus. The Old Testament = the covenant God made with the Israelites with the law. The New testamant= the covenant of the coming of the Holy Spirit which was sent by believing in Christ. where God writes his laws on people's minds and hearts to all those who believe on His Son Christ Jesus our Lord and Saviour.

The Old testament was written before and contains many prophecies which were fulfilled in the new testament. The coming of the Christ, the way he would suffer and die for example. So you cannot choose between old and new because the old is linked with the new.

Look up the Nicean Creed. The time of Constantine it was decided what should be in the bible.
Hebrews wrote the New testament. Actually it was written by prophets inspired by God.
2Ti 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness
The Old testament Proves the New. One cannot go without the other.
