God has no physical features and no gender. When he created Adam- he gave him a soul- and the soul is what is in the likeness of God. The physical package around the soul is merely a container in which the soul is carried while in this world.

And the likeness of God refers to free will- something that no other creation of God possess'

Though God is a 'Male' figure. When the bible says Adam was created in the likeness of God, I found it interesting that the passage said "Let US make man is OUR own image." This makes me think that Adams was like God in that he was Tri-une. Meaning made up of 3 parts. Adam was Body, Soul, and Spirit. As God was Father, Son, and Spirit. A trinity likeness.

Hope I helped!

"Likeness" does not mean, "look-like", but "one-with". Adam represents the active part of the Sonship; Eve represents the intuitive, the sensitive aspect.

The story is a metaphor. It teaches of the point wherein God's Son (us) began to form his own world, becoming physical after existing in a non-physical expression of what we think of as the world.

"Gender" is simply an aspect of our vast personality gestalt.

God is male, specifically. That is why he is portrayed as the "Father". Adam was created in his likeness, because they are both male. The female gender was not created until God saw that Adam was lonely and needed company.

Because God does have a gender. He is transgendered. He use to be a woman but got a sex change and now he is a man.He created man in his likeness because he was lonely and wanted a lover. But Adam rejected him and so God made a woman. He knew how to make a woman since he use to be one.
