This is my theory. It's all to do with everything hanging together and inter-relating in the best possible way. So we shouldn't be self-centred. We should think of the long-term good of the whole, not just ourselves. That means other people, animals, the environment, space aliens if there are any. That's what it means to love others as ourselves. God is a name for what makes everything connect together in the best possible way. That's what it means to love God. It really means to love love, because God is love.

(OK, there may be exceptions, like the AIDS virus and mosquitos. But by and large I think that's probably what it's all about.)

Well, you left out blaming others that don't believe/think like you do for problems, persecution, hatred and killing of those deemed "evil" or "wrong" by your leaders or the sacred text you believe in. But yeah, it's like a club of like-minded thinkers.

I disagree. What you've described sounds like mythology. It is enacted as public liturgy. It is neither true nor false; it is merely effective.

2 Timothy 4:3, 4 specifically warns against it.
"For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths."

Salvation does not come from humans. It does not come from being nice to humans. There's too much happening for a nice look to be enough to help people with the constant support that people need in their lives.

Psalm 56:11
"in God I trust and am not afraid. What can mere human beings do to me?"

This goes along with the fruits of the spirit. Patience is a useful one. Proverbs 29:20 says: "Do you see someone who speaks in haste? There is more hope for a fool than for them." 1 Timothy 5:22 says not to lay hands hastily on anybody or to share in their sins. Stay prayerful.

As for foretelling the future, it displeases God greatly. James 4:14 says: "Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes."

Yes, you are right. There is a bible verse that sums it up this way, "seek good and not evil that you may live, and so the Lord God of hosts shall be with you as you have spoken. Hate the evil and love the good and establish judgment in the gate..." (Amos 5:14 and 15).

You are right. Jesus said that the greatest commandments were these: Love God with all your heart mind soul and your strength, and the second is like the first: you shall love your neighbor as you love yourself."

Have a good evening!

Yep!

Goodluck finding a church that practices that theory though!

Just like Jesus said that we could find him and heaven without ever attending a church! Its true, but church people will tell you I'm wrong!

If you don't attend church they can't get your tithe!
