Many apologizies for similar threads on this subject. I am desperately trying to decide whether I should take a chance and commute every morning, or take the metro to the Sutland Federal Center. I know that once I hit the Metro Green Line toward Branch Avenue and exit at the Suitland stop, I am a mere 5 minutes to my destination. Question, how do I get to this Metro Green line from Baltimore? Is it a single one-way shot to Suitland, or do I have to suffer through multiple transfers along the way. Would Amtrak be a better choice? Please, any help is greatly appreciated in every humanly way possible. .Feel free to lay out the details completely if you will. You are kings among men, if you can accomplish this!

The B-30 bus costs $3 and takes 30-40 minutes depending on how bad traffic is on the B-W Parkway.

You're traveling from one end of the Metro Green Line to the other - which takes about an hour. Metro will cost you $3.90 during peak travel.

MARC costs $7 and drops you off at Union Station. Take the Red Line train to Gallery Place to catch the Green Line train to Branch Ave. The Metro trip will still cost you $3.90 during peak periods but the trip will take about 25-30 minutes.

Depending on what time you leave Baltimore, the MARC train to the Red Line Metro to the Green Line Metro would be your best bet.

The green line is more meant for park and ride than commuter connections, although depending on where in Baltimore you are, it could work.

The easiest way would be to take the MARC train (camden line) to either the greenbelt or college park stations, and then transfer to the green line. Alternatively (if you don't live near the camden line) you could take the Penn line (or Amtrack, although it's more expensive) to New Carrolton and catch the orange line, then transfer to the green line.

good lord. commuting from Baltimore to Suitland?! and I though my husband's commute from Columbia is bad!

the MARC only runs weekdays, but you could use that to get into the Metro. But I thought Suitland was on the red line?

Another option (with one more transfer) is to take the light rail to the airport lightrail station and get on the B30 bus to Greenbelt. This express bus takes you to the Greenbelt station on the Green line.

Since it is a bus it will be on the highway and subject to traffic. It may be cheaper than MARC though.
