Both. The diet purpose are to build a better blood circulation, cleanse your kidney, digestive system and break away toxins congestion.
However I think losing muscle is unavoidable as well as fat. Weight loss is an added bonus of Master CLeanse diet.
Just one thing you should note is that you should not drink the salt water flush although the guide requires you to.
Avoid the salt water drink which is very unhealthy for you. It just sort of go down from mouth to bottom. The reason that it passes right through you, without you digesting it, is because it is toxic for you to digest it. This is why many complain that it tastes terrible and makes them feel sick and want to vomit.

I found a great way to lose weight fast and keep it off. I do body cleansing. I lost 13 pounds in 9 days and then 28 pounds in less than a month. Cleansing will help the body get rid of impurities. Impurites come from a lot of things like fast food, pollution, food additives and preservatives etc. The impurities get stored in the fat in our body. To shrink the fat, we have to get rid of the impurities by cleansing. This made sense to me and I decided to try a cleanse program and it worked. The weight came off fast and this kept me motivated to keep going, not like other diets where the weight loss it too slow. I don't know what that is, but you can't lose fat without losing at least some muscle. If you want, you can take CLA, which can be found at any health food stores, they will limit the amount of muscle loss while trying to maximize fat loss.

Keep this specific meal between 400 and 800 calories. Serve yourself a more compact portion, so if you like coming back again for seconds, you'll just wind up eating a normal-size portion.

Add veggies to baked items. You'll never even taste your zucchini in these brownies or the sweet potato in these cookies.

If you're constantly wanting high-sugar, high-fat foods, it may mean you should eat more protein.
