Crying and lack of sleep does not affect eye sight as such..Regular check ups are essential.Once u find that eye sight has stabilized go for a laser operation.
Only u urself can help ur wife.Be wid her and try to console her.I m sure she'll feel better..
All the best....

best eyesight is 15/15,normal is 20/20. lack of sleep, crying, medical problems, taking Rx's are some causes for bad eyesight including cataracts and yes a neg 12 sight would make anyone cry.her glasses are probably thick I'm not sure if they can do ultra thins in a neg 12. Only your Optometrist (doesn't do surgery) or optomologist (they do surgerysorry no sure about spelling)) would send you to a doctor for laser surgery if her eye sight qualified. You said her eyesight is not stable that sounds to an untrained mind, mine as possible diabetes. blood sugar goes up & down which can cause sight to vary. I would get to my medical dr. to run some test why isnt she sleeping,& why the crying. not being able to see can be very depressing especially if you have children. you didnt say how old ur wife is, are you sure she doesnt have a catract in1 or both eyes.that can cause a -12.Her eyes would look like a fine layer of white or cream color film was over her eyes. give her love, hold her,be kind to her and yourself, let her know that togather you'll find out why she is so sad, and you'll get a 2nd opion on her lasar surgery.

What have various items to do with each other?

First, address yourself to the question why she cries a lot and does not sleep much, although

I doubt whether crying or lack of sleeping worsen the eye-sight, although they will irritate the eyes.

Has she thought about conact-lenses?

Why do you want to go for a check-up, once in a week? A check-up for what?

Hi. Crying and not sleeping enough will have no effect on the physical shape of the eye which determines the focus of objects on the Retina. You wife's Myopia is fairly advanced and i can understand her anxiety in not being able to have the laser treatment.I'm not sure what is meant by her eyesight being "unstable".I would get a second opinion from another Ophthalmologist to see if she can have the operation

Crying does not have any effect on the eyesight, other than making her eyes red and puffy. And of course, not getting enough sleep isn't healthy, it will not make your eyes worsen.

Its a shame that her eyes aren't stable enough for LASIK (stabilizing means that her eyes haven't had a prescription change in at least a year. They cannot do the surgery if her eyes are still changing) I've seen many happy with people with her prescription and worse that have had tremendous success with LASIK. My suggestion is to keep in touch with her Ophthalmologist and as soon as she stabilizes, get her in for that surgery.

Good luck and tell her not to cry. There is hope, you just need to be patient...God bless!

Ask to be refered to an eye specialist. My boyfriend has just been refered to one and he is getting the operation he needs. Go via an optician not the doctor.

take her on holiday to relax her and when you come home see a eye specialist and also sounds like she needs some kind of counselling......

EDIT: OK i have just read your other question and it either runs in the family or its YOU that needs the counselling........
are you trying to be a comedian!!!!!
