Islam is not the way to God. Jesus is the only way to God.

Thanks to Allah, I'm a Muslim.
I've heard and read about many people who converted to Islam.
Some of them were interested in Islam from the beginning. They are the sort of people who have honesty, quest for truth and debth of thinking in themselves.

Some of them hated Islam at the beginning, but when they studied Islam carefully, they decided that Islam is the best religion, and they embraced Islam.

What do you mean by "embrace". I find Islam VERY interesting and like learning about it. I will never become a Muslim though. Why? I guess for the same reason I'm not going to become a Hindu despite my deep respect and love for that religion. I simply don't believe it.

Besides, if I were to join a religion, it would be one that is less violent. I wouldn't become Jewish or Christian either.

Because I looked at it very closely, and very carefully, and found that I wasn't really interested in being Muslim, I was more interested in learning about the religion so I wouldn't follow what I heard on the news. I know a lot about Islam now, but I still don't believe it's right.

The doctrines of Islam and any of the Abrahmic roots are very similar to certain schools of Hinduism, which had already existed thousands of years before the founding of Islam.

Its not only because I was born a Buddhist which makes me not convert myself, but for the firm understanding in the different faiths and religious labels which made me stood on good grounds with my own religious understanding.

I grew up amongst Muslims and even my god parents were Muslims, they had taught me a lot about Islam and yet, it doesn't get along with the ideals and principles of what the Dharmic schools have to offer.

By the way, if I don't convert, it doesn't mean that I HATE Islam. Please don't get me wrong... I know a lot of stereotypes out there all out to attack 'non-Muslims/non-Christians' for being haters just because we have found our own paths and truly understand it as much as they do for being Muslims/Christians.

I put off conversion for a while because I needed to be sure it was what I truly wanted for my life. I did not wish to make a commitment and later change my mind. After studying and living with my husband and his family and following a completely Muslim lifestyle, I knew that it was what I wanted. I converted a few weeks ago.

It is too negative in its prose, and this resonates causing negativity which stop's creativity and induces a false sense of happiness which promotes dependances. This unfortunatly is evident throughout the Islamic world. I'm not sure how the religion can translate to modern times... I will keep reading though as I hope to find an improved perspective given time.

Intelligence, mostly.
If we look at the writings of the bible (old & new testaments) we find they were written by man (through word of god or not- it was a still a man tied to the suffering man has to endure in the world). Thinking in this vein you can see why it was written in that time- a change was needed and the scriptures provided it.
The same can be said about every man-written guide to life: it was written to address the needs of the majority at the time it was written.
The Islamic writings are the most machist and old-minded writings that exists. It was written to give power to man, taking away all responsibility for his actions.
All a load of dung, really!
