There is no "gun license", but there are restrictions depending on the state you moved to and what type of firearm you wish to purchase. If you are a legal resident then there will be no difficulty of purchasing a long arm in most places of the sound or midwest. Like I said, if you are after pistols or "assault rifles" you will not be able to get them in places like California or NY. Just look up the gun laws of whatever state you are moving to.

You don't have to have a license to own a firearm. You just have to be 18 to purchase a rifle and 21 to purchase a pistol. You will have to pass a criminal background check. If you have ever been convicted of a felony you can't own a firearm.

As long as you have no felony or domestic violence convictions, and are not the subject of a restraining order, you can buy any rifle or shotgun at age 18. In some idiot factories, like New York City, you have to apply for a permit to own a gun before buying one. Once you turn 21, you can buy handguns.

Most of these answers are partially wrong, due to the age limits listed.
Federal law does not prohibit firearm ownership for resident aliens, but does for most nonresident aliens. Federal law also does not put an age limit on firearms ownership and purchase. However, some state and local governments enact stricter policies than federal law. There is some debate on whether or not this violates the federal Equal Protections Act, but a case dealing with said question (I think it was State vs. Hernandez in Washington in 1994) ruled in favor of the government. Vermont, for instance, prohibits even resident aliens from firearm ownership.
Now, as for age, it again depends on your state. Common misconception is that you have to be 18 for rifles and shotguns, 21 for handguns. While that can be considered the norm, that is based on state and local laws, not federal laws, so individual states and municipalities can be more lenient or more strict. For instance, in Montana, there is no minimum age for possession, ownership, or purchase on any firearms, including handguns. In Alaska you must be 18 to purchase any firearm (including handguns), and 16 to possess (including handguns).
Very few local level governments actually enact stricter firearms laws on this type of thing. Chicago and DC are notable exceptions, as they both ban handgun possession in city limits. So for the most part, so long as you can provide me with the state you are moving to, I can give you a more specific answer to your question. Otherwise I can just answer vaguely like this.

If you are coming as a legal, resident alien, you need to ask Immigration about that issue. I really don't know the Immigration regulations on resident aliens possessing firearms. Then, each state has its own regulations concerning the purchase, possession, and carrying of firearms. I suggest you contact the Atate Attorney General of the state where you will reside.

In New Jersey, you'll have a Firearms identity Card with the intention to "legally" purchase a bb gun or pellet gun in NJ. (yet you should basically circulate out of state to PA, DE or MD and WONT want a stupid enable) yet paintball weapons are completely criminal and not employing a enable.....which could relatively be extra risky and utilized in extra vandalizm. that's the DUMBEST ******* situation interior the international........... NJ sucks, dont ever circulate right here until you in basic terms plan on moving to the coastline section, by using fact different than that....NJ has no longer something solid.

As long as you're a U.S. resident over 21, you won't have any problems. Unless you're a convicted felon or a wife beater or something. You may have to wait a few days until you can get the gun you pay for due to background checks. Depends on what state I guess.
